what should I get next?

I single-hand my 31PC with I/Os every weekend. Never have support from the family and don't need it. The fact that my boat happens to have the duo-props AND a bow thruster (which I use because I can) makes it all that much easier.

Rob, thanks for the offer. Blue water's office sign is still sitting in my back yard from the storm if they want it back. I figure I have the advantage of no storage bill this year and hopefully finding a boat I like by end of march. It's going to be a long winter
 
Anyone familiar with the 32ft donzi lx, around
1998-03ish. There's a damaged one at my marina looks like it was a beautiful nice beamy boat. Started to look into them a bit, seems similar to the formula pc style

Anchormanagement, love the boat my friend has an 07 so I'm very familiar with it. Btwn buying a house right now and stuff it's too far out of budget for now. A new boat wasn't on the list this year.
 
You can always find a house. Get the boat instead. haha. Completely understand and good luck!!
 
Haha if I get the boat I'll be living on it and my wife will have the house.

I think I've narrowed down my search to 3 boats.

A 2000 donzi z3250 with i/o's
A 2000 wellcraft 3300 with v drives

And my marina has a 2000 donzi 3250 with v drives that had some minor cosmetic storm damage but was repowered with 6.2s instead of 7.4s. Also needs updated electronics.

Any thoughts
 
Donzi 3250 with IOs. That boat just screams IOs.

It would be cool to own it with V drives, but its a performance cruiser..
 
How is the marine growth issue where you keep it if stored in the water. That makes a big difference, if there is a bad growth problem, you will get barnacles growing in the folds of the bellows and in the water intakes in the lower unit. I have had these issues and while they are tiresome, I've been able to deal with it because I have the time to pull the boat once during the season to clean the drive and water intakes well. I actually had to remove the plastic screen in the water intake holes because barnacles were growing inside! So if its bad go v-drives, if not I/Os are OK....

growth shouldnt be too bad, never had a probelm when docking a boat wurther south on that canal on the wantagh side.
 
CaptCrunc, have you decided yet. If not I know of a 2001 31pc Formula with all the bells and whistles for sale. Was in the water with no damage during the hurricane. Kept on a lift. 450 hrs on dual 6.2L Mercs.

What you may want to do before you make your final decision is to Google the brand you are interested in and add the following "Donzi Owners Club". Owners clubs are that of people that own that brand. They tend to be less active than BE, but brand specific questions are answered with more detailed knowledge. Also, Use Google to find out more about the boat you are looking for, example: "Donzi XYZ Sucks", "Donzi xyz problems" etc. Just an FYI though, don't get caught up in posts where only one guy had a problem, be objective while reading and look for "common" complaints, not just one single guys complaints. Like all manufacturers, sometimes a lemon does slip by. :) Just food for thought for more info. Good luck with your choice.

jnova, havent decided this sounds intriguing can you get me more details. i've done some homework on the donzi owners forums and many people seem to like them. also going to speak to donzi cs on monday as i've heard they are a wealth of knowledge.
 
Just heard theyre accepting my low offer on the 2000 Donzi 3250lxc with i/os. now have to work on setting up survey and seatrial in the st petersburg fl area and shipping back up to NY.
