What to do in the Norfolk Area this time of the year?

I will be going to Norfolk for Business this week & I am thinking about the admiral (Duck) coming down and joining me for the weekend

So what's to do in that area this time of the year for out of Towner's for a couple of days?

We are also thinking of meeting up in the Annapolis as a option, any feedback on this as well?

The way the weather has been, it would be great time to stay at one of the Virginia Beach waterfront hotels and walk the boardwalk. You can visit the lighthouses at Cape Henry. they are on the Ft Story property. http://www.apva.org/capehenry/

A visit to the Nauticus Museum and a tour of the Battleship Wisconsin could be nice. They are closed on Mondays. http://www.thenmc.org/nauticus.html

The only things that are closed will be cruises. But the fishing fleet is still going out after ocean stripers and other assorted fish.

What are you interested in?

Here's a link to visitor's bureau. http://www.norfolkcvb.com/attractions.cfm

I forgot to mention Annapolis - other than meeting up with some RO's around here, Annapolis is a bit sleepier this time of year. A stroll down Main Street and touring the Naval Academy are probably the big draws. Baltimore is wide awake though and is a very tourist-friendly city especially near the harbor and around Fells Point and Little italy.

Too bad we're under shrinkwrap or we could take you out to sightsee on the Bay.

Don't forget the Mariners Museum in Hampton ( a few miles up the road from Norfolk) especially if it is a rainy day.

Nauticus is a good days activity as well.

Annapolis is always a good bet, fresh seafood and be sure to cross the bridge to the "other" Annapolis, even better restaurants.

If you take 17 from Norfolk to Annapolis, there are a lot of small towns to shop through and stroll, while avoiding the I64/95 stuff.

Enjoy!! The weather is forecast to continue mild this week.
