i'm trying to replace worn hoses. some clamps are rusted and hard to remove, some hoses are stuck to pipe after clamps are gone. what to do?

Yeah, especially if you're replacing anyway, cut them lenghtwise along the pipe and peel them off. Otherwise, you can get a hose removal tool from an auto parts store. I used one based on the recommendation of other folks here, and it did a pretty good job. It's basically a bent ice pick that you slip up under the hose to break it free from the pipe.

yup break off the clamps by over tightening, they pry off the screw assy. bend a cheap screwdriver 90 degrees to run under the hose if you cant cut it off. clean the fittings well before installing new hoses.
