Many of us have been watching, with obvious interest, the stories of levees condition
and so on.
I am in R4 at Willowberm and they have been piling the rock in upstream from us. The wife
asked what we would do if the levee broke at the bend above us? Maybe a 1/4 mile. I don't
know.
If I am home, I notify Zurich where their boat is?
If you are sitting your flybridge watching the river flow by? Crank engines and head down
towards the Bay? I honestly don't know what I would do and I find that a bit odd. One
thing flying in SAC taught us...think ahead.
If we left our slip, where do we go? Raft up at Mildred? Angel Island?
Has anyone else thought about this? We really should give it some consideration. Sooner
or later one of us stands a chance of being displaced.
I wonder if the marinas have discussed helping each other out?
Food for thought. If you are retired you might anchor out for a period of time.
Remember the houseboats floating down river, hitting the bridge at...where was that? I
watched it, but can't remember where it was...Sacramento River...Isleton?
Has anyone actually had to move due to the flooding? I haven't heard about it if it has
happened.
Just curious...Dave
