What's below the deck on my Wellcraft Cuddy?

I have an 89 Wellcraft 192 classic cuddy. I want to create storage in the cuddy underneath the bed. I have seen other boats with storage under the bed. I am just leary of cutting into it because I have no idea what is under there. It seems to me there is a lot of wasted space that would be helpful storage for an anchor or porta potti. Any idea what is below deck in the cuddy?

I would guess(WAG)that there are two possibilities. The first being nothing but an empty space, the second would be filled with some type of flotation possibly foam. In either case I think the space will be much smaller than it looks from the outside since the hull will form the bottom of the space. If you get into the space, please post your findings on the Wellcraft Forum farther down on this site. In fact you might post this question there.
