Whats the plans for the upcoming season?

Maybe it was a good thing I didn't make that party, not something I would want to see.

Did I mention to you guys that Bowline is no longer accessible by boat???

Yep, the entrance is completely closed, don't even bother to go near it, you can't get in, you'll just waste your fuel.

BTW, if you are looking for me, I won't be in Bowline...

Mike,

None, however the girls looked good with or in Chocolate.

I know you won't be in Bowline, you will be dockside. You'll save on fuel.

If things keep going the way they are, we'll all be at the docks this summer. Good thing we have dingys and CC to go for rides.

You guys will have to come over to visit at our marina once in a while - WE can't be doing ALL the travelling!

Hey, back on the topic of summer plans; how long is it from the Throgs Neck Bridge to Port Jefferson, at about a 23/24 mph cruise speed? If I am going to Montauk from New Hamburg is this a good stopover? And then how long is it from Port Jeff out to Montauk? Thanks in advance....G

Port Jeff is a great stop, but Dandfords is expensive for dinner. Walk around town a bit there are a number of shops to browse etc.. When I get a chance I can plot that out unless someone has trip data logged. At this point I'd say it was a reasonable plan. Come back on the conn. side for some variety. Mystic is a good stop as well.

George, I used to make it to Port Jeff from Stony Point in 3 hours at that speed. Figure in currents and possible wait at Spuyten Duyvil. I agree, Danfords is nice, but pricey.

Port Jeff to Montauk is about another 3 hours. The only stop from Port Jeff to Plum Gut is Mattituck.

Thanks guys for the info. Mattituck is where the Formula people will be based out of, if it is convenient we will stop there on the way to join the group. Looks like Mattituck would be about a 7 hour run for us straight from New Hamburg, right?

Dan, are you near Nassau now? We will be there on 1/24 for the day. Sounds like you are having one helluva time, good for you :)!

George
Are you hooking up at strongs marine?

George, I'll have to dig out some of my old logs, when I traveled at the speed you will be. I can give you more accurate information.

Mattituck is not easy to spot, especially since they took the tanks at the entrance to the creek down.

If I have GPS coordinates, I'll post them for you.

Andy, I will be looking for Hampton Marine in Mattituck. Strong's no longer is a Formulaa dealer. Hampton is running a Formula rendezvous in late July/early August, dates not confirmed as yet.

Mike, thanks for your assistance, looks like I am going to have to go to GPS school. Being able to see both shorelines on the Hudson takes away all motivation to learn what the equipment can do.

Mike,
You might want to check your log. From Stony Point to P. Jeff is 3 3/4 - 4 hours at 25 mph. 85 statute miles.

Mannmade,

From Throgs Neck to Port Jeff at 24mph is 1 hour 50 minutes. 42 statute miles

From P.Jeff to Montauk at 24mph is 3 hours. 66 statute miles.
