Who was out over Memorial Day weekend?

We had a lot of fun partying and relaxing right in our marina but we did manage to get out for a ride. We took our 'other' boat (express cruiser) up to Three River Reach to say hi to the Caliente club. We couldn't join them for the whole weekend but we wanted to say hi anyway. We then went around Mandeville to scope out where we'll be over the July 4 holiday. The ferry that was there last year is already in its spot - or maybe it never left! There were quite a few boats out there, some even from our marina, but I'm not sure if any were already in place for 4th. We'll be going out there in a couple weeks - should be fun!

Anyone else manage to get out for the long weekend?
 
My son graduated from college on Saturday so it kind of broke the weekend up. We had a lot of family hanging around so we just stayed at the docks. The weather was nice but a bit on the cold side.

I watched the sheriff tow in the remains of two PWC that managed to collide near Tiki Lagun. There was some ambulance activity that happened about the same time that I am guessing was related. One of the PWC had had its entire steering console ripped off.

I took a fried over to Tower Park to try out Rosa's Restaurant, which replaced Sunset Bar & Grill. They had outside music [boom boom boom] and a huge crowd of boats tied to the docks. It was tough to find a place to dock, but I managed with some help from on of the marina employees.

Since it was around 2PM the restaurant wasn't terribly busy. I liked the menu offerings. Straight forward Italian food. Nothing really fancy and reasonable prices. I had the fish and chip lunch. The fish was fresh tasting, not overcooked and very crispy. My friend on the Cobb salad which was too much for her to finish. Our bill came to a bit over $20. Not bad for lunch on the water.

This was my friend's first time on the Delta and she was amazed as most newcomers are. Too bad we didn't have more time to explore. Other then that trip, I stayed at the dock. My harbormaster had a BBQ on Saturday night which was well attended.

All in all a very relaxing, enjoyable weekend on the Delta!
 
We cruised up to the docks in Old Sacramento on Friday morning. Spent most of the weekend enjoying blues and zydeco at the Jazz Jubilee. Also had some friends and their adult children join us for most of Saturday and Sunday. The weather was a little cooler than usual, but for the most part it was a great weekend. The American River is starting to look like Lake Havasu with all of the ski boats rafted up and the young people doing their thang! Makes you wish you were a twentysomething again when watching them party.

Cruised past Jim on Comfortably Numb on our way back down the Georgiana Slough on Monday. I was busy swabbing the decks as we ended up under the bridge in Sacramento and the local pigeons made a mess of the boat.

We had a great time and are looking forward to celebrating the Fourth of July out at Mandeville.
 
It was a land-based weekend for us. Two graduations to attend and a wedding. Actually, we usually go out on only one major holiday weekend and that's the fourth.
 
Still didn't make it out, even with all the great advice, now my outside thermometer says
96 I am not sure how ready I am to go. Have a few days off this week, perhaps I should
head for the lower bay, but with no experience the big water scares me.
 
You can usually expect the Delta to be a few degrees cooler than Sacramento. That's the case with Davis as well. If there is a breeze in Davis it's always stronger in the Delta.
 
The wife wanted us to take the boat up to the lake. I told her there was NO WAY I was going out on a three day weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sooooooooo we took it up to Hogan Res. Sat. and the kids came up Sun. and we got back Sun. night.
Everyone had a good time, and not as bad as I thought.
 
We were out Saturday, and it wasn't that bad other than the intersection of 14 Mile Slough and the San Joaquin, which was pretty busy. We followed Capt Phil or one of his employees towing somebody in. They don't mess around on a tow - I was going 35ish, and wasn't catching up quickly. Moore's was busy, but not full - there was open space at the dock the whole time we were there.
 
No water time for me or my boat. Still on the hard waiting for the new strut. It's an itch I just can't scratch, yet!

Kept busy with my youngest daughter's high school graduation and a series of parties for her and her friends. Lots of fun, but not as fun as boat time.

I'm living vicariously through your boating posts. Keep 'em coming!!
 
The strut arrived yesterday and I'm hoping for a wet boat this weekend. Still have a bit of leftover maintenance and cleaning before she's ready for the summer. Unfortunately, my job keeps me from getting out there on weekdays to get it all done.
 
I'm so happy to hear that she will finally get wet again! You've been very patient...... Too bad work gets in the way of boating LOL
 
Was up in Grass Valley for the weekend. Nice and warm. Stopped by Oxbow on the way home on Monday to check on my boat. Is it me, or do birds seem to know when a boat has been recently washed?
 
LOL I still have the decorative flags from Opening Day on my boat. No birds have bothered it since! Maybe I'll string them around my slip intead of the boat......
 
Flutterby, I don't know which day you were at Rosa's, but I was there on Monday.
Got to go out one time this weekend, on someone elses boat. As we were flying down the river towards B&W, I could smell oil. Hot oil. We got towed back by a Jetski. Breaking down on OPB (Other Peoples Boats) never hurts liking breaking your own. Just makes the boat ride quieter.
Working this weekend.
Hanging out with my younger kid in Monterey next weekend.
Now, when is that Crawdad Festival thingie?
 
Crawdad Festival got canceled again this year. Me thinks Isleton might be a tad short of funding.
 
FindMe, you would have found me on Sunday. Monday was the day I packed up and traveled back home. Glad the boat you were on found its way back to the docks!
 
I had some Burner friends down for the long weekend alond with Austin, my 14 year old. It was kind of windy on both Sat and Sunday at Oxbow so we jetter around in the SeaDoo jet boat. Went over to Moores and listened to some music and lunch, then went back to Oxbow where they had an informal Backgammon tourney on the lawn. Kevin won and there was a 3-way tie for 2nd. Sunday we headed up the Georgianna - passed Dave who was being very courteous in not "waking" us like a lot of others, and had lunch at Al the Wops My slip neighbor Art took a bunch of photos of us cruising - I'll see if I can attach them. All in all, it was a great weekend!
