Headed south today, to Washinton Irving Boat Club for lunch.

First off, men need to wear shirts with sleeves.

We had a salad with shrimp, and skirt steak sandwich, our friends only had drinks, as they ate lunch earlier.

Our waitress was clueless, a frozen margarita was $10.50! Food was good, service was mediocre.

Did you tie up at the Tarrytown dock and walk over? They wouldn't let us tie up last year when we tried. The walk wasn't worth it.

Mike, I think you need a new thread - "Restaurant's of the Hudson" ;)

Sounds like a plan maybe a list and review.

Ben, they have a dock reserved for the restaurant.

I have never been there when it wasn't full. I always end up next door and there the only place deep enough it next to the fire boat.

Being you went for lunch in the middle of the week I'm guessing dock space wasn't a problem. Maybe I will have to try that.

When we went, they said they couldn't take a 40' ... ever. BS, huh?

But 48' is OK Ben face it they just didn't like you. It is tight in there I was tried to dock but it was so over crowded I had trouble turning around to get out.

I think Hogan was in the small boat. I dont think the dock they have will handle larger boats. Water Depth also has to be watched at the dock. I was in there with a 29 footer and was in the mud at low tide. They used to let you tie up larger boats at one of the docks just as you came in the marina but I dont think they due that any more.

Yep, we were there on the 18' CC. Not much room for a big boat to turn around in there.

I used to go into Washington Irving all the time in the 24' boat, but if they only have two or three boats on the visitors dock you can forget trying to get in there with a bigger boat. It's also tough to turn around once you get into that fairway by the visitors dock and the launching ramp.
