Took a ride with in laws... North/north west Wind was cranking .. Attempted to dock at cedar Beach...

5 attempts .... only one slip i fit in ... Could not hold her in place long enough to get in... Anyone know what the wind speed was around noon?? Dying to know!!!

I was humbled.....

Rob

Wind was forecast from 20 to 30 knots out of the NW. At 0900 FICG reported wind speed at 19 knots. During the afternoon the wind shifted from NW to West and it was cranking towards the upper 20's. Also, I'm guessing wave heights in the open waters of the bay was 3 foot with some 4 footers thrown in.

Not much wind up on the north shore.
We are leaving to essex today, anyone have any details on conditions out in ocean?

finally got the little boat in...............and this wind makes a wet ride !!!!

no............ I was already out of the marina......... didn't go back in. Im goin over in the morning to visit someone else...I'll stop and say hello.

According to Station 44025 south of islip, gusts were 22-26 knots.

We took the boat out tonight and stayed on the Island side of the bay with the North - North West wind it wasnt so bad.

We went out yesterday to run to Norwalk CT to fuel up for the July east end trip( 500Gal[:-banghead])
The sound had 15-20kt winds and 2-3+footers in the AM better in the afternoon

We ran to Essex out in ocean. Ocean was very calm with 1 to 2 foot waves. Came in shinnecock inlet and then locked thru. Peconic to plum gut was a breeze. After plum gut sound was very snotty with decent swells but trackable. Made it to EIM in 6 hours. Good trip so far.

glad to see you made it out..........not needing bail $$$$$$.

It was sure windy and had a fun time getting in at Kismet. Barreled through the entrance, had to…. Then did a fast shut down of throttles once though. I was told to go into slip 26. After 3 attempts, yes 3… so what… I then nail it perfect, just to get stuck between poles. The dock master, a real nice guy Brian, points to an extra large slip… But on the west side where the basin mouth is… He said I would be rocking and rolling…. After 1 and a half attempts, I settle in for a nice day and evening….. A little bouncy but ok….The place was hopping almost as mush as Ocean Beach…. Sunday we had raft-up at GC, a little breezy but very comfortable.

Rob, thought you might show up at Watch Hill, then thought maybe you stayed closer to home with the wind. I don't think 'D' dock ever entirely filled up this weekend. 4 big boats left Saturday morning, all people we know who were stuck going to the same party...

I will post pics. Gizmo is having fun. He loves other dogs.

Rob, you would have more options with the slips with my boat. Want to trade???
