Winterizing a carbureted Kohler 5E

I have a non-EFI Kohler 5E generator, that I need to winterize. I get that I need to change the oil & filter, flush with Antifreeze, but I'm not sure of the best way to fog the engine, and would appreciate any tips you all may have on doing the job.

I've never fogged any of my gensets in 10 years. I'm going to stop fogging my engines too.My mechanics at the marina tell me it's not neede for our short (3-4 month) layup.
 
I run the same "treated fuel", used in stabilizing the engines, through the gen set as well then turn the fuel supply to the gen off and let all the fuel run out of fuel system (this will help prevent the carb from getting varnished up).
 
I spoke to the Kohler tech. about winterizing the 5E.

His suggestions were to run antifreeze through the system and then fog the carb with fogging oil, just like you would your engine.
 
Bob - so on the carbureted models it's ok to just spray it through the carb?

After the pink shut the motor down, pull the flame arrestor and pull the coil wire to the distributor. Spray oil down the carb while turning the motor over. This lubes the motor up just fine.

I winterized my Kohler 5E last Saturday. Basically, I pulled a vacuum line off the carb and sprayed a sufficient amount of fogging oil into the line while it was running. I didn't spray enough to kill the engine, but enough to coat the cylinders. After that I pumped the pink stuff through the raw water intake.

I remove spark plugs and shoot fogging oil or Marvel Mystery oil into each cylinder. Crank engine over several revs and replace plugs. Walls of cylinder are now coated with a lubricant of choice.
