I purchased a boat last year that had been repowered (1997 5.7 carb)
and the new motor came with an electric fuel pump. I noticed the pump was wired to the ignition coil for its power source and knew this to be a no-no. I purchase a oil-pressure safety switch and rewired my fuel pump. Everthing works great and is safe - but if the boat sits for along time the fuel drains out of the carb and it is hard as the dickens to start. In fact I have to turn it over multiple times to get the oil pressure up so the pump starts to run. There is another terminal on the oil-pressure safety switch but I don't know where to wire this? Help.....
