My 1.25" dia X 84" long shafts are worn in the cutlass bearing area. The shafts have about 1500 hours on them. The rest of the shaft is perfect. Has anybody tried plating or plasma buildup of this area? New shafts run about $600 each. I tried using a Globe coupling to get into "good" material but it's time for a better idea. Cutlass bearings have been replaced.
