Worried about getting through Moriches. First time

Heading out to west Hampton from Babylon. Any advice about getting through Moriches bay. Draw 3 ft. Never been past watch hill. Concerned about bouys not being on plotter and skinny water. Anyone know if it's easy to pick up buoys visually ? Thanks
 
Plan your trip to get in that area at high tide.........stay in the channel......if you need help call Seatow/ CG for help to get you thru.

Good Luck..........you will love West Hampton Beach.

I was in WHB this year, late July and went through going and on the return to Babylon. It was the most easy run in the 9 years that I have been going out east. If no fog you can see the bouys very easy.

I use the saltwatertides "dot" com table for the Moriches coast guard station. As Don says go at high tide. But now, with the new route, you have a little more window of about 2 hours on both sides, however, that can change quickly.

Guys , tides no longer an issue . It's a pretty much a straight run ! No more worries

Rob's comment +1. We were just out there ;ast weekend and went through the Coast Guard Station 2 hours past high tide. No problems at all. The only down side was having to leave after a few days, had a great time as always.

Came through yesterday afternoon. Everything is clearly marked! It's just a straight run with plenty of water. No worries!!
 
makes me wish I still had my boat now............it use to be a nightmare.

cough..cough...you haven't been east of the RM bridge in like 10 years! Your autopilot was busted on cedar beach!
 
.....when I get home from our 2 months on the road......I'm taking the motorhome over to Cedar Beach ......to relax for a week................lol
 
I did....closing is in 5 weeks.............then I'll be a renter in my own house for a year..................what a deal I made .........lol
 
.........after Laborday weekend..........no stickers needed.
