most of my "fit" problems have been: sloppy/loose fit.
it's been a real time consumming pain in the arse. but i finally got it all right. going in very nicely!
you would all be proud--it's like ART!
Update: I did use a 90* elbow fitting at the tank. The fitting there and at the Y valve are not barbed and the hose slid over it easily. The 1" to 1-1/2" coupling/reducer at the toilet pump however was barbed and even after sanding and filing down most of the barb, I still had to use the hot water trick in order to get the hose on. The boat is still winterized so the new system has not been tested yet. My fingers are crossed.
