hi flutters, i was wondering if t.paine has any other
profound observations that you could share with all of us. roy

We'll have to watch for you guys when you pull into "The Outrigger." Would be really nice to meet you after talking to you on here for so long. Sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe I can talk husband into doing dinner over there. Our exhaust manifold/riser on port side is being replaced with a new one so boat is dockside only. We still go up there every weekend though. This is the last of our repairs on the boat. Sure going to be nice.

I have always liked this one:

"Lead, follow or get out of the way."

Hi Roy. Ok, you've called me out. I don't know of any other Tom Paine quotes. High School civics class is too far away for my memory!!!!!

Cat come on over! Just call for dinner reservations so we don't run out of food. 925-684-2390 by August 4th. Dinner begins at 5:30PM; casino opens at 7PM.

Or get a friend with a run-about and join the poker run! I'll ask for you when I'm at Outrigger. What's the name of your boat?

Sounds like fun. If we are lucky and if everything goes okay might have our manifold/riser back on.

Hi Flutterby, are you still planning on Outrigger on Sat. morning? The name of our boat is "The Cat's Meow". Got manifolds and risers changed this weekend. But, unfortunately husband will be in Mexico Fri thru Wednesday, but I will be up at the boat. I figure you will be at the Outrigger around 10. I will probably be up at the restaurant having breakfast. I will look for you. Will be nice to meet you finally.

My plans are up in the air right now. I'll be at the club for breakfast and to help with registration, but I'm not sure I'll actually be going out on the run. If I get to the Outrigger, I'll be sure to ask for you!!!

This event turned out to be a great success! We had visitors from San Rafael and Loch Lomond Yacht Clubs as well as many boaters from Bethel Island. I'm not sure how many boats participated, but there were 75-100 people for dinner.

Brian Hackney of http://cbs5.com/eyeonthebay was there all day with his photographer photographing the activities and doing interviews. The show should air in October when they are doing a series on the delta. Watch for it! We had a total of 9 available stops. Of course you had more cards to play if you hit all nine cantinas. It made a for a very full day. My poker hand came in fourth, which meant I was out of the money. Durn----oh well.......

I hopped a ride with some friends who brought their SeaDoo jet boat. My first ride on one. It was wet and rough! It didn't help that we ended up competing for space in the channels with the ocean racers who were having a poker run out of Discovery Bay. They do not follow the Rules of the Road, even when they have a Sheriff escort boat and a Coast Guard helicoper tagging along. There was another chopper photographing their race. At one point we were entering the east end of Three Mile Slough going to Outrigger and five racers came towards us filling up the entire waterway. We could not turn and outrun them, so we just went between them and tried to stay safe. Thank goodness all three of us were wearing out inflatable PFDs! My Little Guy was in his carrier and stayed mostly dry. He didn't really like the bumpy ride, but never complained once!

While we were getting a bite to eat at the Outrigger, I was able to meet up with Kathy of Cats Meow! We didn't have much time to chat, but it sure was nice to meet her and put a face to the name.

It sure was nice to finally meet you and chat a bit. I finally closed the boat down at 4 p.m. on Monday and headed home. It was so nice to be by myself for 4 days. Not that I would want to do it all the time. Read a couple of books and just did what I wanted to do. Weather was great too. Well, once again great to finally meet up with you.

Cathy

Well, I bet you husband is enjoying some "time off" too. And you both will enjoy seeing each other again too! Every couple needs some alone time sometimes.

Liz when is your group cruising in to SRYC? I want to make sure I'm tending bar!

There will be 2-3 boats arriving Friday, Sep 21. The rest of the gang will be there for dinner on Sat the 22nd.

I may have to be a no show.......currently having medical tests which may put me under the knife; or not. So I've got it penciled in, but cannot commit for 2-3 more weeks.

Dang!

Lately I've had too many friends getting carved on! So far all is well with them each, but it sure isn't fun, and very disruptive to life for many months. Hope it doesn't come to that for you!

Wow Flutterby, hope nothing serious! I have to have rotator cuff and part of clavical chiseled apart surgery on Monday at 3 p.m. I guess that comes from being over 50 or at least that is what dr. said. Hope everything goes well with you. Please keep us informed

Cathy

Flutterby,

Email me at kalan2000 at comcast.net. I've got news for you that you'll enjoy. Also, I know where the Delta Dawdler ended up...

Al

Getting some tests this week. Very vague symptoms make it difficult to speculate, but I must plan for the worst [surgery] while I wait for the best [resume my activities].......

Cathy, best of luck to you. Lots of people seem to be getting that type of surgery. I know an ortho would recommend I have mine done, but I prefer to manage it with anti inflammatory meds and exercises!

Al----you've got mail!
