As of this morning, the whales have been spotted near Benicia and will probably continue down through the Carquinez Straits into San Pablo Bay.

At least many more people know about the delta now. But I am glad they are heading out to sea where they belong.

We stayed overnight at Glen Cove, just east of the Carquinez bridge, and the whales were all the buzz. We considered staying awhile, but the whales were said to be moving about 1 knot, so it would be a long time to get to the Carq. bridge. Maybe we'll see them tomorrow as they go by San Rafael (at a safe distance, of course!)

Yesterday the whales were swimming through a large group of sailboarders off of Sherman Island. I wonder what that was like? I'd sure hate to right over one when they blow!!!!
