Zachs bay boarder

From what I understand (at least in the Town of Hempstead) the state owns those islands. I know some people who own some of the bay houses on those islands. Used to be they had to be handed down only to family members and couldn't be sold but I understand they can now be sold outside the families (although most families keep them). A book was written years ago with photos and history of the bay houses and some of the people I know are in it. Fire Island National Seashore owns all of East and West Fire Islands with the exception of the 10 or so homes on West Island. The families on West can never sell their properties, that was the agreement with the feds. They can pass it down to others in their family.
 
I don't know if the constables have the same presence off season if any.
I think the CG pulls out their small boats for the season. Only the cutters are docked now. So I'm guessing the visits might be minimal.
That said, I would think some authority might be a little curious.
 
What kind of boat is it? Is it that weird blue / grey boat that looks like the top was chopped off? I've seen that boat there in the summer... very creepy.

I was there Saturday and Sunday to watch the airshow.

I anchored very close to the boat both days, there was no one on board either day.

Its got some pretty large solar panels mounted to what looks like a homemade hardtop...

Looks like a Wellcraft, could it be as big as a 32'?
 
I don't know the boat sure looks better then a homeless shelter?
In this economy nothing would surprise me.

I've seen him there for a long while as well. Has what looks like a duck boat as his dinghy. I've seen it mid-week out there a few times, so its not it is just a weekendeder tieing up.
