Friday, (weather permitting) I'm off to Danfords on the LI Sound in Port Jeff. As this is just a discovery tour of the Sound I'll be going nice & slow to take in the sights. I wonder how many times I can have a good dinner in 3 days?

I had to reschedule my Danfords Trip due to the weather forecast this weekend. I'm now scheduled for 8/2 & 8/3 Thursday & Friday. I didn't realize that Danfords wants 72 hours notice to reschedule? Ouch that hurts.

Art,

They are calling for scattered thunder storms. That is a fact of life in the summer, sometimes it rains, sometimes it doesn't.

I'm not sure why you would cancel a weekend on a forcast like this one.

The scattered Thunderstorms are forecast for both Friday & Saturday. At bare minimum the ride will be over 120 miles just to Danfords if we don't go out East? I'm picking up my brother & his (don't laugh) 4th wife in Port Jeff for the extended trip out east to Block. My wife can't walk & is on crutches this week (a fall) rain will kill her ability to get off the boat. It won't work for me if it's wet. (:

I make it to Danford's in 2 hours, that about 60 miles for me. How do you add 60 miles to the trip? You are right around the corner from me in Staten Island???

I meant both ways there & back if I don't go any further. Even if 1 day looked ok but both days rain? Doesn't sound like fun. Two hours that's a fast run through the lobster pots in the sound?

2 hours at 26 knots and yes I have to dodge lobster pots. That's what the hand held auto-pilot control is for!!!

Sit back and enjoy the ride.
