Nope...the fundamental problem is he said will take our advice. If that were the case, I wouldn't have to come to NY to witness such foolishness as Bob wouldn't do this trip. OTOH, this is a perfect excuse for a roadtrip and meeting with the Eastern Contingent of RO's.
 
Not to worry folks, the quart sized Buds are merely to use as depth charges to ward off the JC evil northern spirit (err, he would be upset I used that term "spirit" in a boating thread).

Seeing how wifey is Chinese and I am of Kraut background, we prefer Tsingtao beer. Relic of the German colonies in China, tastes great, wards off evil dragons that are white in colour and have many teeth.
 
Sounds like a great spot for a BoaterEd, N.E. RO Rendezvous . . .

It's easy for us to sail over during any extended summer weekend. We're staying in Newport first week in July for Tall Ships - but, mid to end of July typically has better weather for cruising offshore . . . that is, if BOB's not going in June. If he is, then I'm always up for partying during a good SAR operation.

TrueBlue, perhaps Phillip could fly over during the SAR, take ariel shots and drop a parrot on us, after spotting bob's wreckage.
 
I still want to know who has the salvage rights for motor parts.

No need to bring anything, well you might want your video camera. No vegetarians here. The dog would not allow it. Tell the other woman in your life that there's a washer, dryer and iron on board, so we'll have lots to keep us busy while you and Andy troll for Bob.
 
Whoever gets to the wreck first Mike. Chances are it'll hit bottom first - turn it into another dive site, alongside the U853.
 
Mike: the motor parts will be no good, all twisted up in Bruce's stomach, with teeth marks all over them.

If you zoom in on the above picture you will see at least a dozen or so bow riders. I also saw 30 or forty 8 foot or so zodiacs, surely if they made it to block you can.

Hey, if true blue can make with that boat with the telephone poles (leans all over the place) Your boat should be a snap (assuming your boat does not lean like that).

Go for it, you could always turn around if it gets rough. That fog thing, no problem, just have enough beer on hand while you wait it out.

I suggest Bob try his journey the week of June 17-22 - the island should be empty.
 
Hey Bob,

The Coast Guard is right out of Montauk Point, If you have any problems you could always call them on your cell phone, afterall this is what they are there for. These guys don't do very much and would probably enjoy a boat ride to come help you. Just have like 5 or 10 buck available to tip them, they do work on tips I have heard. If you give them a twenty the may let your kids shoot those big guns they have on the boat.

Also if you make it to block (which I know you will) without any problems and the return trip does not look that good, or if your tired, I am sure they will be more than happy to come get you and tow you back. These guys live for this (any excuse to take a boat ride). They also enjoy a good sence of humor, so when they ask you why you are in a bowrider in the ocean, tell them with the load of drugs you are carrying you will be able to afford a bigger boat next year, they will get a chuckle out of that.

BTW what ever happened to that loon from Florida who was going to snailbote up to Long Island in winter, to surprise his girlfriend who dumped him. Kind of an astrosail type deal. Is he related to Bob?
