We are getting ready for the annual migration down to Elliot Key for Sun N fun and some well needed R/R . Our Ice Machine has been maintenance and "all systems are go".
Looking forward to swim in those beautiful waters again!
Any of you folks going?

we're going on friday afternoon, coming back on monday afternoon... we're going to anchor just off the bulk of anchored boats, near shore.

My husband and I will be out on patrol with the CGAux but we know that none of the SF BE people will cause any problems! :D

We will be there. This year my wife is going as we are having an other couple stay with us on the boat. Recieved my order of waterGUNS so I am all set.

Ps foot not going??

Well Y'all, we have now loaded up stores aboard FREEDOMS CHOICE, getting ready for Columbus Day Weekend. I have now placed aboard, a super water machine gun to ward off any offending vessels that cross our beam, be aware, ARGG!
Friday night 5 Oct. we will call upon Key Biscayne Y.C. for some fine sustenance prior to the field of engagement, Then "Get ready to party" Y'all.

Arrg! We be flying the colors of "Don't Tread On Me " from the main mast! Battle stations will be manned . Be aware we will repell all vessels that approach within a 10 yards of us. We shall not give quarter.
We will scuttle any scow that dares to approach without first paying tribute!

I think I might miss it this year. I'm not really up for a sprint from Haulover. Last year this time I was at BlackPoint, a mere 40 minutes away.

Pretty weak there bajan, in past years i ran the boat all the way from Vero to be part of the event of the year. I have been keeping my boat in Miami since last years party plus we moved to a new house in Wellinton over the summer.

black point isn't 40 min away, it's 10 miles across the bay...

haulover is like an hour away if you run on the outside down to cape florida... if the ocean is bad, it's maybe another 20 minutes thru the NWZ...

Any word on the weather!!! So far, its been pretty awful here in Miami...

Pascal & Mario.. Since you folks have the biggest vessels.. Will the beer be nice & cold?

Regards,

i don't... MArio's is 58.. there is another 58 hatt coming... so I'm off the hook :-)

just kidding... yeah, the beer will cold but Pinacolada will probably be the drink of choice... we're stocking up on coco lopez, pinaple juice and rum !!!

Beer is always cold! ;) But I must admit, I too will be blending up frozen concoctions all weekend. :)

Yeah, I know. I'm kinda whimping out. No over-nighting. I would only be going there the Sunday, and would have to hightail it back to Haulover afterwards.

The first 20 minutes is a long no-wake channel, then 15 minutes of a 28-30 cruise to the Elliot Key. If not for the no-wake, I could do it in 20 minutes.

Pascal/Mario/Cor/SJ, Sounds like a good time. What channel will you monitor?

Captchas has me scared with all that Pirate talk [:-scared] but I may catch up with you guys.

dont' think i'll have time to monitor the VHF once anchored :-) we usually anchor off the big group, closer to shore... Mario and a friend of ours who also has a 58 will be there first and pick the spot... 3 classic hatts anchored together shouldn't be hard to spot :-) I usually put up some flags on the antenna to find the boat when in the dink... big Jaguar Racing and Pirates of the Carib flags...

hope to see you there... it's been a while ! :-)

Do you use your Gen. while anchored or is that a no no.? How about at night?

i run off the inverter during the day... usually run the genny at night, either for a few hours to recharge the batteries or all night if it's hot.

eveyone is running their gennies there... we dont' raft up jsut anchor near friends but most boats raft up with the gennies...
