It's the eastern side and the adjacent sandbar off of Nicoll Island which like zane said is just east of Timber Pt. It's extremely difficult to see at night if you're trying to enter the Connectquot River from Nicoll Bay. The area is marked, but only by 2 private(ie not buoys) red flashing lights which are a quarter of a mile apart. This makes it very tricky because if you mistake the west light for the east light, you'll run right up on hairy island. I'm not sure how it got it's name or even if that's the official name, but that's what we've always called it at Sea Tow. You would not believe the number of boats we've pulled off there over the years. Good thing is, that it's so low that most of the boats come off undamaged. I tried to attach a chart, but I think you need to use some 3rd party photo hosting site to do that, and I'm not sure exactly what the process is.
