Actually, we've been at the dock all day. The heavy rain has been falling for about 2 hours, winds are not too bad. I think we might have to cancel our BBQ plans!
We were able to sneak in a couple of Bubba Burgers before the rain got up this way. It's raining pretty steadily now.
The hydro report for the creek has it peaked at the action stage but I wonder if it will get that far. It did not seem like we got that much rain this afternoon.
We wish we had lights on the creek since there are sailbotes dragging the hook down stream of us.
Yeah, we've got it easy. I wouldn't want to be on Turks and Caicos right now. Ike is cat 4 and bearing down on them.. It'll probably devastate a great vacation spot.
Well we are about to go into darkness. Waiting for O&R to come and drop power. We have a pole down in front of marina. Wires are on a car in the driveway with People in it. Guesss we will be on generator shortly. Rain is pretty well over but still getting strong winds.
It was a non-event up here. The creek maybe rose a 1/2 foot on the hydrology report. I'd say we dodged a bullet with the help of the cold front that blew Hanna east.
We had a short outage before the pole. Lights went out then right back on. Pole came down about 15 minutes later. They did good. Came with the auger truck and pulled pole upright and left truk hooked to it over night. Only went an hour with out power. Im sure they will be back some time today to fix it...
We didnt do to bad here. About 6 inches of rain with peak North winds of 35 to 40. Had flooding in our parking lot but dont think it flooded local streets.
We have one boat with a litle water, bilge pump not working and another one with the rub rail on swim platform damaged. One other that had aged lines and the stern one broke. No damage. For what its worth we did real good...
We did have alot of people come yesterday to check on there boats. Its surprising how some people treat them and never come to check on them.
I was ready to stay up and party, but I was told by a reliable source that all the other wimpy women went home and the guys that stuck around were down below on their boats, so I hit the sack.
While it wasn't on a boat, I did spend some time out on the water when Hanna rolled through. I did a long weekend trip to Rhode Island, we got a few hours of rain but that was about it. Watching the radar on my cellphone it looked like it tracked way west of where they expected it to go.

First picture is from Saturday afternoon, surprisingly we weren't the only idiots out there swimming. It's one of the few ~6-7' waves that rolled in amongst the "regular" ones. Second is from Sunday morning. I have video of Saturday night when the waves were non-stop and (to me, anyway) pretty big, 10-12' if I had to guess, but I haven't had time to upload.
