Haverstraw Marina

I've probably been to your pool more than you have!

Anyway, like I said before, who needs a pool when you got the whole river?

Just make sure you pay all your bills over there, he could use the money!

I think everyone is missing the best marina on the Hudson. BAMAR!

It is peacefull quite cove with no waves. What could be better.

Oh Yeah, every time you leave or come in you have to have everyone duck, put the bimini down, and time it in betweeen waves to get under the bridge without hitting it. There are no concerns over depth, only height.

WOOPS, FLipsky a 30 footer is probably 3+ feet to tall, we won't let you in, your loss. You should buy a nice 16 footer so you could slide in.

Yup, Hogan let our secret out. We actually like to have fun! We didn't fit the typical Haverstraw profile of stopping by the boat once or twice a season. Sit on the boat having a few cocktails and then head home before dark! Amazed me how few people never sleep on their boats at Haverstraw.

We are back on G dock our old home. Different slip than we had but not a problem and it's good to be going home to be with our old friends. Damn, now I've pissed off our new Haverstraw friends again. Sorry! We will be over to see ya! Hell we would see you on the water but it's hard to get some of you guys out there! ;)

Considering you chose to be over in "No Mans Land" (north side) I have to say your assessment of HM is WAAAAYYYY OFF. We have a blast every weekend on or off the docks. There are a ton of great people who use their boats every single weekend of the season. So I have to say that you do not have enough experience at HM to make such claims (one season on the north side does not cut it).
Did you ever consider that the people that “typically” don’t use their boats keep them on the north side because it is cheaper? I know that if I knew I was not going to use the boat much I would keep it in the cheapest slip available.

Don’t get me wrong I liked SPBM and we were going to go back there this year BUT I do not have the luxury to take off Mondays and there is no way in hell I am playing the “Tide Game”… We spend too much money on this lifestyle to be a slave to the tide.

Also, even at High tide (which is only about 3.5 to 4 feet) you are sucking up so much muck and mud into your engines it isn’t even funny and do try to tell me that isn’t true. I was there for 3 years I know how it is.

Gez, look at all the great things we have at Penny bridge, new docks that dont make noise, dont get that hot and when they do we turn the showers on. Great people as well as service. Our own private beach with picnic areas. A short walk from our cars to our boats. A great view of the river from our boats. No wonder people are always trying to get in....

Oh well thats it for me, see you all soon....Miami, here I come!

You forgot the Rocking and Rolling and oh yeah... THERE ARE NEVER SLIPS AVAILABLE..

If we could have gotten into PB we would have been there Years ago. Stev and theboys are the only ones I let touch my boat... and yes the docks are nice...

I think the object is to move up not move down in size.. BTW, how is the pool, gas dock, pump out, ship store, game room and resturant over in BAMAR?

Leigh, the reason there are never any slips available is because once you keep your boat there, you don't want to go anyplace else!

Most of the "rocking and rolling" comes from the activities INSIDE the boats, I wouldn't give that up for anything!

I dont buy that. I used to bring my boat to PB for service and the boat would get rocked around quite a bit from passing boats.

I know, no one ever leaves PB.. When we bought our Chap from them I tried like hell to get in there.. No dice..

I hear what you are saying about the rocking and rolling BUT I have noticed it usually last more then 1 to 2 minutes so I think it would be safe to say it is the boat traffic on the river...LOL

PS Remember it's not the marina it's the friends and people you have a good time with.

Wow, someone really got his panties in a bunch!

BTW - the difference between north and south price wise was like 2 bucks a foot Leigh. Not exactly a huge savings!

Also, FWIW, I did not say we take off Mondays, I said we stay there till Monday morning. In other words we go to work directly from the boat. I realize that could be tough with a little one but it works for us.

We got Fran & Todd's old slip. Next to were you used to be.

Welcome back John, Its' good to have you guys back in the marina. We will all have a great 2008 season. Friends are what make good times not the marina. Thomas is looking foward to playing with Jake. Dingy races in May 2008.

Thanks Wayne!

We are looking forward to being back with the crew on G dock. Jake loves to chase water from the hose and the way Thomas likes to squirt things down I'm sure they will get along great!

As for dinghy races, I've hung up my racing goggles. My new hobby is using the binoculars for bikini hunts. ;)
