Anyone worried?
Was coming out next Saturday anyway.
I plan to take down the canavs this weekend and begin some winterization stuff.
Will stay in water for the storm, does not look like it will be that bad, but to be safe will get Canvas down and put away!

You never know with these storms which way they will go. Current model shows glancing blow to Long Island on Tuesday morning.

I still have another month to go... Marina is balls to the wall hauling so no choice other then RIDE IT OUT !

NEver a dull . Atleast now i can watch the video streaming ...

Rob

I've already been hauled. I plan to take down the canvas tomorrow and just leave the mooring cover on the boat. The canvas has to come down anyway for the winter. Taking it down before I'm ready for shrinkwrapping just makes doing work on the boat a little less comfortable. I need to finish winterizing the engines, the AC, and the genrator. That's the priority. The canvas removal will take under an hour. The latest projections have Sandy missing us, but you never know. Stay safe, my friends. Hy

Cool, can we all watch?
For Irene I tried to setup a cam on boat, but then they shut off the electric for the marina and it died.
What is the backup for yours as far as power goes?

I'm still in and this could end my season if I pull it this weekend. I won't put it back in till next spring if I do. Missed another fall with every weekend having a rough ocean. Let's hope it goes way east...

Same deal. Scheduled for haul next Friday.....not too worried though.......

East Wind is ok .. WEST WIND very very bad...

Dave ill give u the IP and password... u may get seasick though ...

I have a UPS on the cam and DVR should let it run for a few hrs at least.

Ill show stills tomorrow.

Rob

Looking like this weekend at Atlantique may be out.
Probably start the prep on boat and let it ride out in the water.
Haul next Saturday.

Saturday looks good . sunday not so much.. may go to cedar for the day ! Im not giving up !

Rob

Cedar?
I would rather sit in the AYC parking lot!
Come to AYC, we can find you a slip this time of year.

Come to Florida....the weather is gorgeous.........temps are still in the 80's. :)

I was kidding Don! Hey if you are in Stuart you'd be lying!

Don,
You do realize there will be a day when the shoe is on the other foot.
In fact, statistics show Florida is more likely to get wiped off the face the earth by a hurricane than NY.
Just wait!
All those new toys will be in the same toy bin all mushed together!
LOL!

I have family in Stuart they lived upstate NY for 30 years and now say they will never go back to the freezing frozen north. This is after they were wiped out in the last big storm that hit Stuart. I guess we all have our perspectives but if I had the chance Florida in the winter sounds way better that NY.
Rob

I have few more years to put in but when the time comes, I am down to my place on Marco Island and will see nary a northern winter again!

I'm still in until late next week and just a little antsy. Last year I dodged the bullet from Irene only to have the boat damaged a few weeks later by a tropical storm. I'm watching the predicted storm track here:

I decided to be alarmed enough to call my 'winter marina guy' this morning. I'm driving the boat over tomorrow morning. Season's over...
