Stopped by again today as the tide was on the rise. RYB was plowing the mud, fixing docks, tearing out carpeting out of the office. Things seemed pretty normal except for the slop and the muddy pool. Electric not on. Saw that same eagle who's nesting near the water below the condos.
Though the docks don't look pretty, kudos should go out to Jim, Jeff and the rest of the RYB staff there who held the docks together the last 72 hours. There was a lot of stress placed on the docks, but at the end of the day, no boats were lost nor was anyone injured. It was a wild ride by all accounts Sat night into Sunday and then with Monday's current. But boats remained tied to their cleats (and anything else). Sure there will be complaints about a few things (those with campers creekside particularly) but given the circumstances, a generally unpredicted flood of historic proportions, it's pretty miraculous that no dockside boats went for a walkabout down the Hudson.
