Irene Speeding Toward East Coast

We have no power in the condos above the creek since 7:30 am.

Here's a link to a vid of the creek:

Mark I am thinking the same thing about the water level. However, the marina RYB is flooded up past the pool and it only did that in the Spring of '05.
Here's a shot of the ramp and main dock back in 2005

Helen, I was at Haverstraw 9:30 this morning & all boats except the Commandore which had some damage, looked fine. On the east side of the parking lot the river had already come up over the bank an hour before high tide so I'm sure that parking lot eventually became part of the river. I was able to get as far as West dock where the Commandore is docked & got a look at most of the marina. All canvas both camper & cock pit covers were intact that I could see, the boats were bobbing around gently if at all & I could not see any damage to any of them from my vantage point.

Same holds true for SPBM & Seaweed if any of you have boats there. I was unable to get to any of the other marinas due to flooding on Beach & River roads. SPBM was seriously flooded out. I did not have my camera but it was a sight to see!

Up at Stony Point Bay Marina. Water into the parking lot and ramps are straight up in the air. It appears the
At no one sustained damage.

Hey Dan, thanks for taking that video, my boats are in it... Guess that means they are still afloat :)

Isnt it ironic that Dan was worried about his boat getting hit in FL and instead he gets a direect hit by the same hurricane in Kingston???

Dan i hope you dont see boats coming down the creek from our place.... it looks real bad there. i am going to head up there soon but i was told the thruway is closed south of new paltz. not good. 9w maybe?

Judy - thanks for the update - we are in blue dock - right next Princess T at the end. Trying to figure when we might be able to get to the boat!

Thanks too, Dan for posting the video. Great to get a report given getting to the marina would be a difficult journey. I was wondering about electricity to RYB but now the rain is letting up and bilge pumps should be shutting down. It's just about 1pm and rain has nearly stopped in New Paltz with a light breezes.

If you get a chance to shoot some more, please do. I'm across from the fuel dock -- tan flybridge cover.

Thruway is closed northbound from Newburgh to above Catskill, I heard.

News said that PIP is closed above exit 18 to Bear Mt. Bridge - landslide of all things!

Thruway is closed above Catskill too?? Wow...

Dan, I think you are right by the way, something must have happened to one of the docks at 340 Abeel in the video you took. Thankfully its not my dock, but I do hope everyone is allright...

Its frustrating knowing I really cant safely get up there to do anything useful. Looking out for family here in Mahopac and my big truck is out of commission with a siezed engine. So we sit and wait for the waters to recede....

Helen, if the roads allow you to get to the marina you should be able to get in to get to your boat. The west side of the parking lot was starting to take on some river about 10:00am but the east side was clear. All of the docks were clear, it was still raining & not 100% visability but you could definitely see the boats & docks were barely moving if at all. The wind has picked up some now but we have had much stronger winds than this before.

Rondout now approaching record flood stage... Its at 25.48 feet...

Oh Christ... I wonder if I am still a boat owner :(

Ok Gang we went for more gas for the genny. I still cannot get to Connelly. They have blocked all the roads. I did make it to the Eddyville bridge and right now I'd say the Anchorage is holding up as good as it can. Mark you are floating and look ok as do all I could see from the East end of the bridge. Pete, you were floating fine but a list due to current (I think).
Trees are down or threatening to come down everywhere. I'll try to up load a few photos.

Gas dock at Haverstraw is gone...

All boats in PennyBridge are fine. Lots of debris and standing water on roads.
