It's Finally Coming...!

What a kick! (I get all excited when UPS delivers a package to my door.) Was the boat launched from the crane?

The boat was delivered in Long Beach but was "sailed" up to Marina Del Rey for prep and fitout. So it was put in the water from the freighter.

The boat was on the deck of the freighter on a custom steel cradle (notches in the cradle to accommodate the hull rails). The boat itself was then strapped to the deck of the freighter.

I unfortunately wasn't there in person. Not only did I not have the time, but I wasn't allowed to be in the shipyard, and the timing of the offload is not precise.

goplay, what a wonderful choice! A truly beautiful Yacht!

Congratulations,

Gnarley

Wow,

What a nice job they did with that cradle! It's nice to know she was safe and secure during that long ride!

Congrats, and enjoy!!!

Sweeeet ride...for sure.

A few years ago I installed a complete set of Ray Marine devices on a sailboat. Just to make me show my stuff, the guy bought all this stuff at the West Marine close out center. All opened boxed. There was a Radar, Chart plotter, and fish finder. They communicated with Ray Marine HSB, and also used another Ray Marine buss to integrate to a bunch of RayMarine sailing instruments, and the GPS sender. Of course, I had to call Ray Marine about a couple of details. There could not be a better support group. During my first communication with them, they had me check the version of the ChartPlotter firmware, and had me send it in for an upgrade, which was done quick and free. Everything worked on the first try, and since installed all of it has been bullet proof. There might be other stuff as good, but you won't find anything better.

After I finished the installation I asked my ex-father-in-law if he had any Raytheon instruments on his Beechcraft Bonanza. His reply way "Raytheon owns Beechcraft". Enough said.

I am a big fan of Raymarine. I had Raymarine on my last boat (a used boat). I had some electrical issues that caused the Raymarine scanner and chart plotter to go on the fritz. Raymarine replaced everything with factory refurbished units. Awesome customer service.

I was thinking of doing something more exotic than Raymarine E-series, even perhaps the Raymarine H6, but decided in the end, to stay on the conservative side.

Niiiiice! When I saw the first picture I was wondering if you were playing a joke on us, goplay. But then see the pictures of your new yacht being unloaded...... And all this time I thought these beautiful "creatures" only existed in magazines! (~; Absolutely stunning! My hat off to you Sir!

Btw., does she have a name yet?

You would be amazed what you would see in Newport Beach, let alone Florida. The boating scene in Northern CA doesn't have nearly the high zoot boats you see in other parts of the country.

Anyone at the Miami Boat Show this year?

I am still working on the name.
