Anyone have plans for the holiday weekend?

I don't have any except maybe to fish or day trips. Could do a raft up somewhere.
 
Get to the boat as early this week as possible. Stay as long as possible next week. I won't be doing much if any cruising too many weekend warriors are out along with stepped up enforcement.
It's still nice just to be on the water......

We will be rolling towards Long Island on L/D weekend and plan to spend 2 weeks there.....then we start a slow ride back down south to Florida.....arriving by the first week of November.... for the winter.
 
Heading to CT . Im off next week . Its my victory lap before I come home to the SAND BOX .....

Where did the time go ?

Me either Dave, however the real boating season starts for me now. I'm thinking about going to Chese in a few weeks. Perhaps this year I'll get to visit with by BE friends in the Baltimore area?

The September / October Boating season would be a favorite for Linda and I. Working for a college I get all the regular Jewish Holidays off and some I never heard of. So this would be our second vacation time of the season with a bunch of 4-5 days weekends.

This is the first year in 11 years of boating we won’t be boating thanks to Sandy, Insurance issues, and other boat related issues that I can’t mention. She is apart, engines out, insurance and marina wows, and no end in sight. I almost never missed Columbus Day weekend at Watch Hill.

Well on the bright-side, I have less crab grass and weeds in my garden. [:-irked]

I didn't ask. Called for my beam and he said nothing left that would hold my size beam.
 
Other years eveyone would be chatting about the Labor Day week end. Even Robski would be bitching about the fishing boats in the channel.... What's up ?
 
Ok Brad.

Fished in Reynolds Channel on Sat as the ocean was nasty. Stayed at the dock on Sunday as the ocean was nasty. Skipped Monday with the fog and rain threat all day.

No boating for us the next two weekends as we are away so I put the boat into my service yard to have some minor things that bother me taken care of.
 
Rob will be bitchin soon, I think he moves his boat back west after Labor Day ;)

I fished Saturday and Sunday off Montauk. We had fluke both days, sea bass also on Saturday. Wasn't as good as it's been but we caught fish and conditions were decent although both days got somewhat rough in the afternoon. Monday's forecast didn't sound so great but I stayed out there to take care of some overdue interior cleaning on the boat.
 
We didn't leave the dock, but that's another story. Considering how the days started I was surprised there was so little rain. Did the dock mary thing listening to music and BBQ'ing. All in all a great weekend.

Season went quick. Between side jobs and running the kids around all summer I didn't get to use the boat nearly as much as I would have liked to. But that's usually the case anyway.
I did get to use it Saturday afternoon/night. The wind was blowing pretty good and it was a little darker than normal coming back, but we had a nice evening.
Had a BBQ on Sunday, and the weather didn't look like it would cooperate on Monday. No big deal though since I'm not a real fan of running around out there on holidays anyway.
Looks like we have some nice days coming up though.
 
We started the weekend up at Lake George C/G.....BBQ'd and enjoyed the town. Packed up Sunday morning and moved down to Saugerties C/G...and enjoying this area......this Sunday we head to Long Island ( for a few weeks ). After that we will head south to Florida for the winter. Actually this is the time of the year we enjoy the most in camp grounds....NO need to make reservations....NO kids......NO noise....plenty of room :)
 
You're a lucky man Don.
The kids and I suggested to my wife that it might be a nice idea to fly west, rent a large RV for a week or two, and spend the time going from place to place while living out of the RV.
Doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon.......................
Sometimes I think I might have been better off putting up with the first one. She was a huge PIA too, but at least she was in to boating and might have at least given the RV idea a shot.
 
John......sounds like a good time. Maybe rent on Long Island.....and drive out west.....it could be more fun then flying. My motorhome is no different then my Sea Ray was when it comes to issues........the problems are all the same just different. Its amazing what we will $pend to have a good time. :)
