Walter.......... Maybe you should borrow Robs slip in Merrick....he has electric and water.

Hello .... Robs in his slip.,.......

Sheesh

Hey dave I got ur message,,,, glad it worked out.. U did good ..... Now that noise u hear as the damper opens .. is normal... But u do need to see if it got stuck on something... U dont want it to happen again!

Rob

Yeah, thanks for the help. Guess I need to take apart the sheet metal chimney pipes. It made a scraping noise, does the sheet metal ever change shape? I was thinking maybe it is bowed a little from the heat and its touching the sides. I am more used to a manual damper, I guess this automatically closes to prevent the wind from coming down and blowing out the pilot?

It's been running good now for a few hours and it does go on and off.

Thanks again.....gotta love gas, clean, easy, quiet....oh and its a peerless cast iron boiler, I had it wrong.

The damper stops heat from rising out of the flue... ( swear )

u can always by pass it ... thw two wires to the motor are the power the other two are the make and break on switch....

The flue will not lose its shape unless something impacts it.... if u hear it scaping u can take the flue apart and see how and why... one end of each section of flue is tapered real easy to take apart and reassemble...

Glad i could help.... Any questions feel free to call

Rob

Gotta love gas !?!?!?!?!.............

You finally got out of the oil ages ???

Id rather have oil... its cheaper... much cheaper... but thats the only benefit..

Nice vacation u got Donny.... take the crap ass weather and go back to work of all of our sakes....

: )

A crappy ass day playing on the boat.....is a 100X better that a good day at work.

OH YEAH........thats what I want...is a diesel engine running in my boiler room all night long......and BLACK SOOT blowing all over my backyard ...boat...and cars. Not to mention the worry's of waking up someday to an OIL SLICK in my canal. :) :) :)

WTF are u talking about now ... I would ASSUME u are speaking about an oil burner...

its not that bad... in my 41 young years of having oil in my parents house we never had an oil related incident... ( puff back, oil leak etc )

those only noramlly happen if an ill maintained unit ( puff back ) oil leak in house again .. failure of homeowner to be vigilant in keeping a somewhat eye on stuff... Gas has draw backs too... ummm.... price of gas.... ummmmmm did i mention price of gas??

But seriously it is probably 25 -35 % more costly to run on gas... and thats the low end... i've seen customers we have done oil to gas conversations on have there bills go up by 50 % thats not good... Thast why like ive said the gas company hates me .. When people ask what my savings are... I dont like like most there installers... I want a customer for life... I tell straight up its going to cost u money... but people do it for the smell, get extra room in basements etc....

ok done babbling ...

Rob

I have seen two houses blow up that had a gas leak, the one house that sticks in my mind was in Bellmore. I drove up and down the street four times before I could find the house, reason being it was leveled to the ground. Remarkably both people in the house survived and only had minor injuries.

Walter

Hey wait ... im on bellmore...

Should i go home ?? oh wait .. wifes home alone with out the kids... NEVER MIND !!!!

Walt.. so whats the deal when u going in.... Thats soo messed up that everyyear they screw with u guys with this work ....

amazing.... guess no one ever heard of a completetion date in a contract... do they get a better deal if they let the guy do whatever the F he wants ?
