Lindenhurst or Amityville Cut

With a boat his size u dont screw around! u take the safe route every time !

Exactly Rob, which is why I'll suffer a few 5mph zones and take the Babylon Cut. I have no desire to start my Saturday morning running aground. 35,000 pound boats do not take kindly to groundings. Thanks for everyone's input.

Would Expedite the new 50 though ! or is it the 54 now ?

: )

We going to see u at Watch Hill ?

Rob

Babylon is certainly the safe bet.
Have a good day in Zachs!

Rob, I'm in D-3. Thanks, Dave. I've never seen the air show so I'm really looking forward to it.

Have to tell you that I have a 40' Cruisers and run the Amity Cut all the time, even at dead low. Make sure to cut the East/ West channel sharp into the north entrance of the cut. No issues. Only challenge is when Sea Tow or Boat US tows someone in that cut especially near the North end at dead low. Then I power down out of respect and have touched a few times, but nothing serious. Easier to do than it appears. Enjoy the Air Show. My favorite cause it signals the true start of the season and many weeks of boating pleasure.

I went through the Amityville cut in my Uncle's boat yesterday about an hour after low tide and never had less than 5' at any point. Most of the time I had 6 plus feet. His boat doesn't draw all that much water, but I think if you went through up on plane you would be fine even with a boat that draws 4'.
