I measured the water marks on one of my walls downstairs tonight at my house (in Lindenhurst). The water was 30" deeper then Irene or Gloria which were previously the highest tides anyone around here has ever seen.
My boat is fine, rode out the storm with no problems, I had 4 lines tied across the canal keeping the boat off the dock (in addition to the 11 keeping it tied to my dock). First floor of my house is a mess but luckily it was raised up many years ago and the main living spaces are on the second and third floors. Still a big mess and a lot will need to be replaced. I have not been out of my yard since the storm started but except for one boat partially pushed up onto Shore road, the boats on my canal that I can see seem to have fared well.
