Hey.......that's my line. Just got back. Went to Bannermans Island and back. The river was 100% better then last week. Still some wood to deal with but not so bad. More like early spring.

Glad to hear things went well I hope everyone had a good time.

Hank, you passed us going north by Jones point. We went up to West Point at idle speed and had a nice ride. Better than sitting at the dock.

Hogan I thought I saw you go by this afternoon, after all I know it wasn't me.

Yep, had to get out, we had company so we took them for a ride. I'm staying on the boat tonight. It's great up here, time to light up a cigar

Miike - gayle said that but I never saw you. Guess I was focused on the debris. Usually I'm looking everywhere but where I'm suppose to. I did hear one thud under the boat from what I assume was a submerged log but thankfully no vibration after.

Hank I have followed behind you in the channel going to Northport. You are right you do look everywhere but where you should be looking...

We might have been in your area yesterday, not by boat, a buncha us took the bikes to OCC in Newburgh to see the building/shop before it gets foreclosed on. Your river is still a lot browner than the CT, larger watershed I guess. We came out of some state park and rode north along the river to the bridge, very nice area.

I hafta laugh... they repositioned the buoys in the Mohawk River even though this section of the Erie Canal is essentially shut down for the winter and perhaps longer. I'm told that above Lock 8 there is a marina where the boats and docks are all high and dry because the damaged dams were allowed to let most of the water out in that section. Imagine that, first flooded, and then left stranded with no water. Yuck...

FEMA came to the Southern Saratoga Chamber office today - we're still trying our best to be useful and help out.

I have a feeling a number of snowbirds are going to get a case of frostbite this year.

LOL I think you are right, Dan!!! I'm told the Mohawk River is now open from Lock 8 down to Troy, and I believe the Champlain is also. Not sure who is using it, but maybe its helping some snowbirds reposition...

On the bright side, if you were stranded in Syracuse you'd just HAVE to either go up to CA (then down Champlain) or west to Chicago to get to Florida for the winter. Would make a great trip :)
