Major storm in Route (A white X mass day after)

The first impression is that it looks good. Then the realization of the work involved kind of resets that sentiment.

I'm waiting for our lancscapers to shovel us out!

Well Caryl just finished the driveway. I told her to take a break before she starts the deck. So now she is making me breakfast and then back to work. I sure hope the wind lays down or she may have to do the driveway again...

Aren't you nice:) I at least helped Audrey.
I'm thinking of taking a ride up to the boat to check on things I want to make sure the cover held up to the winds and that I get as much of the snow off before I have a problem again.

Well everything looked OK up at the boat but I couldn't get very close they had not plowed the yard yet and being I was driving my van I didn't think it was a good idea to drive in or I would still be there trying to get out.

I can imagine the snow piles in between the boats where it all builds up after sliding off the shrink.

Just an FYI....I checked all the boats I know at Haverstraw & Pennybridge yesterday. All made it throught the wind & snow just fine!

I guess Judy forgot about her "friend" who keeps his boat at Patsy's for the winter...

She probably could have done both the driveway and deck if she didn't have to run in the house every 10 minutes to get you a beer or change the channel on the TV.
It reminds me of why woman wear white on their wedding day. All appliances come in white!

Mike I tried to check on your boat when I went up there but I was driving my van and the lot wasn't plowed yet so I wasn't about to drive in. I could see my boat from the road and I could make out that the cover was not compromised. I normally at least take a quick look at all the boats I know to make sure everything at least for the outside looks OK. I go up a couple of weeks for one reason or another. You can bank on being notified if I find something even remotely wrong at least in my opinion. I would appreciate the same.

Thanks Dave, I will do the same. I presume that if there was a problem, the guys at the marina would call.

Problems with the shrink wrap can easily go unnoticed unless you are looking for it one boat at a time. Two weeks ago I had a support 2x4 kick out and the center of the wrap came down I didn't notice until I went on board I stood it back up and put a carpet under it so it wont slide again. Now I look very closely to make sure everything looks right. I would expect the yard to notice the boat having a problem with the jack stands I would even expected them to correct it quickly without even a call. I wouldn't expect them to notice the beginning of a problem with the wrap not until it is a big problem and that may be too late. I feel better checking on things often and definitely after every storm. Being I couldn't drive into the yard last time I went back today.

BTW two years ago I had a problem and had some damage that no one could or would have noticed until I went up and looked and it's a good thing I found it when I did because it most probably would have destroyed my top and took out the windshield. Better safe then sorry.

Here we go again. I hate the snow, actually I could deal with it if winter only lasted one month just for a change of pace but this is getting ridiculous.

I checked on the boat today, all is well under the shrink wrap. Everyone else's boats looked fine.

I stopped and checked yesterday as well. all buttoned up for the storm...
