I connected to two different hot spots that each shows seven bars. Four times in 1/2 hour, it has disconnected. It then takes me 4 - 5 tries to get it connected again.

It just dropped out again, took 2 times to reconnect

What happens when you connect with other devices?
Laptop, iphone? If they also drop out then you have some type if interference issues.

Boat radios transmitting near by? Radars on near by? Microwave ovens? Lighting dimmers, and many other sources of interference are all close by at marina.

Best antennas are also best at picking up interference:(

This is why I like to be a geek at times and use the bare bones hardware like the Ubiquity Bullet.

no interference nearby. All devices lose connection. I've had this problem since I got it. Getting really frustrated and disgusted with it.

Have you tried adding a favorite?
So mine disconnects too. Not sure why. I think it's the wifi signal from optimum.
I did s and it helps.
When in wave menu after you connect there is a wave logo that allows you add your current connection as a favorite.
When you do this and it disconnects it will try to connect again to the same connections.
I also bet you have a conflict with something else in your marina.
Try changing the channel on your router.

Dave, where is the wave logo and how do I add favorites?

BTW, how was Champlins?

Could be an issue with the access points too... Or make sure you don't have a loose connection somewhere on your end or even a voltage drop..

have you contacted Richard at Geosat solutions? they are pretty helpful.

Mike
i was having problems in Bowline and surrounding areas I think there is an issue with the hot spots while I'm in Haverstraw i usually don't have any problems however New Freedom bought a unit the sametime you did and it too has problems even in our marina it keeps dropping the connections. I onthe other hand can remain connected for weeks at a time. I'm traveling this week and had little issues accept while in Newport just couldn't get it to work while there. Here in Essex i have been connected for two days without interruption. I would be lost without it!!

We arrive there Sunday.
At Shinnecock now.

At top of wave screen.
Blue bar to the right.
It is a blue circle with squiggly lines and a plus sign.

Funny I have been having the same problems too. Haven't used the boat much this year but has been like this all season. I have been searching this morning to see if there is a firmware update but no luck finding anything on the net to know what the current firmware is. Had the unit for a few years and never had problems like this. I keep my boat behind my house and I cannot even hold a connection to my own network. Mainly problems with obtaining IP address, I get connected.

While I was away on vacation the Rogue worked great everywhere except in Newport where it didn't work at all really not sure why but everywhere else it work great I would connect when I got to each port and it stayed connected for the entire stay. I got back to the my home port and logged into the hotspot lets see how long it stays connected here it's been a few hours in the past it has stayed active for weeks at a time. I just check and my cameras are still up 4 hours later.

I just check and I dropped as well not sure when but I'm not connected either it must be the local hot spots because as I said it was working great while I was traveling and it used to work great at my homeport as well.

So have you contacted Geosat yet?

I've been traveling up and down the eastern seaboard this summer and have not had the kind of problems you are discribing with our Wave system.

when we on eastern long island, it worked fine, even in Block where I was connected to Beacon

It's not your Rogue it is the local hotspots they are dropping us not sure why. I never had this problem while at Haverstraw until recently. I did experience this while at Bowline they must have made changes to the software and changes I'm not happy with.

There are known connection issues with Windows 8.1 and 10. Google WINDOWS 8.1 & 10 WiFi connection problems.
I gave some examples in the original post (page 4) in ATC.
Another trick that works for some users is disabling your 3rd party Anti-Virus software.
I'd try this and see what happens, but I wouldn't leave the computer with no Anti Virus software do it as a test and report back.

If it works fine on some spots and not others I am gonna go with it's the hotspot.
We have terrible hotspots by us. Constantly dropping. But like I said when I add the favorite it does reconnect.

Dave which OS are you using on your devices? It seems AOS (APPLE) devices don't have the connection dropping issues that WINDOZ devices have.
