You can reset the static IP to dynamic. As Kurt said it's under the settings tab.
I would be curious to know what the lower right settings are when you run into this problem.
Here is what an Xfinity public hotspot looks like under the settings tab
Current Settings are: ?
IP address: 172.20.20.20
MAC address: 24:A4:3C:70:A2:20
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 172.20.20.1
DNS: 75.75.75.75 75.75.76.76
Here are the settings when I only have a green YES under connection, but both IP & Internet are red NO's
Current Settings are: ?
IP address:
MAC address: 24:A4:3C:70:A2:20
Netmask:
Gateway:
DNS: 75.75.75.75 75.75.76.76
Here is the WPA PSK protected access point with all 3 indicators being Green and YES meaning I logged in with the correct credentials.
Current Settings are: ?
IP address: 10.0.0.90
MAC address: 24:A4:3C:70:A2:20
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 10.0.0.1
DNS: 75.75.75.75 75.75.76.76
I used the same AP only the VLAN for the 1st was the Xfinity public connection (the same modem), the 2nd and third were the same access point one with incorrect credentials the 3rd was using the correct security credentials. See the identical MAC address proving I was on the same access point.
I hope this helps if you want me to run and record any other conditions using WAVE WiFi's GUI let me know, I'd be happy to help.
