New Haverstraw Restaurant

My morning walk took me there this morning. Place starting to come together...Looks like they have alot of interior work to do yet...

Mike, I don't think there's going to be an "upstairs". Just one level with the high roof.

Yep.. That's right John there is no upstairs.
The plan is to finish the exterior by Memorial Day so there is minimal disruption to the pool members and then finish up the inside by July.

Then probably be another month or so to get their liquor license. Maybe it will be BYOB again in the beginning :)

Other than letting light in, seems like a pretty stupid waste of a potentially gorgeous view...

Mike that's so little Johnny can sail paper planes around your head.

Sure I would.

BTW - since we are on the subject of restaurants we had a late dinner with several other couples at the newly opened Stony Point Bay Marina restaurant. The food was quite good, prices were reasonable and with the exception of a new waitress's opening night nervousness and the chiefs a bit excessive "how are things going" we highly recommend it.

Open to members only but membership costs $1 for one year!

If it was a "late dinner", you must have been eating with the Francey Free's!

I wouldn't join any club that would have me as a member.

Dock and Dine or is this the place that eats props while you eat dinner?

No Francy Frees but Relentless and Knot On call were with us. I think Bob was still working on his boat.

So for $1 do we get to use the pool as well?

Only if you slip the lifeguard some cash...

Since the pool is open to all SPBM members & their guests without any additional fees this year I'm sure we could work something out Jonathan.

Only at Low Tide... and for heavens sake stay in the channel...

Quick update on the restaurant...My guitar player was contacted, and booked two dates for my band to play there this summer. I assume outside at the Tiki bar as in past years. I think this expresses some confidence that the establishment will be open for business in some capacity right around the dates discussed on this thread

weeeeeeeeee!

I usually only go there to pump out, but I think this might be another good reason...
