Hey Guys - looks like I am the new guy..

Just bought a Chaparral from Penny Bridge Marina where I am keeping it....

Went out with a captain for the first time.. I have to admit I am nervous to take it out because of docking... I am going for a lesson again on Saturday.... Hopefully I will get the hang of it... Anyone else in this boat?

Hope to meet you all soon!

Welcome aboard! There are plenty of us Pennybridge guys here, stop by "B" dock west to say hello. What dock are you on?

If you can dock at PBM, you can dock anywhere! Practice, practice, practice - there is usually someone on the dock to give you a hand.

Hi Hogan..

I will have to say hi...

I am on the last dock against the fence.....

Look forward to meeting everyone..

You are on "D" dock, remember to bring everything to the boat the first time, saves you a lot of walking.

If you need any advise, info, etc.. ask here, or anyone on the dock.

Welcome to the HRCC as well as Penny Bridge Marina.

Like Mike says, dock there and you will dock anywhere. Dont be afraid to ask for help. There are plenty of boaters here and at the marina that will be glad to help out.

Did you go out Sunday with the Capt.? Think I may have seen you....

Again, welcome to the board as well as PBM....

Thats good to know about Penny Bridge... Looks like i chose the double black diamond place to keep my boat lol ;)

I was out on Saturday with the captain - we only did a few turns in the marina... i attempted to try and dock it but the captain wanted to do it.... I am going out again on Saturday and want to spend the entire time docking...

I cant wait to get out on the water...

It wont be long and you will be docking like a pro...Pratice is the best thing...Anyone can drive a boat, well almost anyone....Docking takes pratice...Like Mike says...stop by B dock and say hello...

Hey NBCnewsGuy. Glad you found us. While the Chap site is great, the HRCC boaters will be your best source of information for the Hudson River from Kingston to Liberty Landing. Mike (Hogan) and Butch (Caryl D) are probably two of the more experienced boaters in the area on this forum. Pennybridge is a top notch place and their service crew is excellent. If you bribe them with cold beer and chicken wings, the might even let you follow them into Bowline.
Oh...Cpatain Fleming loves to drive other people's boats, especially new ones, and demonstrate how to power dock.

I will buy anyone beer and chicken wings if they tell me how to dock and not let me crash ;)

I am from Cape Cod so it is going to be like going to school all over again... My first boat was a 13 foot whaler... It was easy to crash that into the dock and not cause any damage...

Name is Ryan..
I got a 290... Honestly dont know what I got for power... I have mercs...

Thats right, remember your comming in Saturday, turned around in front of my boat with Capt. Don. Then went down the fairway in front of us....

You will be all kinds of happy with the 290. Its a beutiful boat and well designed...

And a Welcome Aboard from the other side of the river! You'll find 'our stretch' of the Hudson some of the most rewarding water in the river . . . from great coves to anchor, to access to the Jersey shore & LI sound, or even north thru the locks to Champlain or Erie, you can really enjoy boating here!

Ryan welcome to B.E. and good luck with the new boat. I'll say this much, given you're with the news perhaps the gang there is going to have to clean up their act :D.

Welcome and congratulations on the new boat, that must be a beauty.

My only advice on docking is...don't be afraid to ask someone for help. I'm sure the crew at PB is amazingly helpful so don't let your ego say no. I help my neighbors and used to tell them if you see me come in, I could probably use a hand. By the end of the season, you'll be good to go.

Oh and the other piece of advice...not that it's easy but simply relax, don't get frazzled, the worst thing that can happen is some scratches in plastic...easily fixed.

Good Luck!

Welcome aboard NBC. I'm glad you found this site, because you won't find a more knowledgeable and friendlier group of guys around.

I will take any help that I can... I have no shame at all... So if you see me coming in I would love the help! ;) I will have to start bringing lots of beer with me... What kind does everyone like??

what kind of beer does everyone like?

F_CK beer (the Free, Cold Kind)
