NY Boat Show Dec 29-Jan 6 at the Javits Center

Well - the gas prices are probably hurting them a little.

Look at the new costs of boats - They are out of their minds for the most part. My boat with the same features is gone up $50K on a 30 footer in 3 years.

What is a typical 35ft boat cost now - $250-$300K just to start? Thats allot of money considering how the real estae values have dropped and the boats have gone up.

We've actually had a halfway decent Show over at Stingray...

Thanks, John and others for not blowing my cover when you came by my booth! It seems I was always busy when people I knew walked by. If you'd have come over and told my customers/prospects what I was REALLY like I'd have been in big trouble ;) !!!

Oh well, tomorrow is likely going to be dead - the Giants start at 1PM...

Pete,
I am not surpised, IMHO, I think the smaller boats, jet skis, etc, is the way to go in today's climate. Happy to hear you did ok.

Walter

Yeah, it appears the smaller guys did pretty well, the bigger ones hurt a bit...

Then again, a few big boats did move from what my buddies at other dealers told me, so it was at least a passable show...

Any idea how Silverton did, especially with that new Ovation model???

The Ovation is a pig, My feel from the big guy's is there sucking wind.

Hoping to pull a GM act like rebranding a pontiac to saturn.
