Post Sandy trouble spots

Took a quick ride to blow some carbon out and saw the markers in the Amity Cut are in and lined up pretty as you please. Didn't venture as it was gettin' late but plan on running it this week sometime. My draft is about 2.5' so we'll see how it goes.

It was well marked. It did seem like the last couple of sets on the north end curved a little west of where they normally are, but plenty of water between them when I went through.
 
This weekend full run up for sure. Fueling up at boat yard (rising tides) tomorrow then off I go.
 
Broad creek channel is severely shoaled . ( Merrick bay ) boater ran aground at mid tide in center of channel . Looks like they just dropped the buoys in last years spots

Ran Amity cut at both high and low. Bout' a foot diff on both but got through at low with no issues and kept "right" both times so seems like they did a good job marking. Ain't no play outside those markers though. Went to Gilgo for a visit and was pleased to see the shack open and people hanging out. Not much in the way of beach left though on the ocean side....in fact, waves braking at the big man made dune by the underpass.....still....it's there so....:-)
 
Yesterday I ran from AYC east through the north channel to the north-south cut at Bayshore and then down to Kismet. Other than the fact that I faltered at the inlet to the marina there I can report nothing unusual about the ride. Regular depths all the way.
