Very quiet here in Atlantis. When we got here a couple of days ago there were only 8 boats in the marina. Very peaceful for this place.

Hoping to head to Harbour Island tomorrow if the swell drops a bit so we can get through the Backbone.

We spent one night anchored off of Frazer's Hog Cay and the crossing was uneventful. Other than the new Garmin autopilot misbehaving. We had that along with 4 Garmin glass bridge touch screens, a Garmin VHF, Radar, sonar, XM weather and Garmin WiFi network installed before we left. The only thing not working correctly out of the box was the autopilot. This is now the second new unit and it's still wonky. Even after much head scratching and calls to Garmin by the techs that installed it all.

Oh well, one more thing for the to do list when we get back.

I'll post some pics of HI and the trip over later.

Picking up an Android phone for WiFi was a breeze. No line at all in the phone store and they are running a special on phones and plans. So can get a phone for $150 and you get $30 of data for $20.

And the new Fresh Market store in the same Harbour Shops plaza is like stepping into a market in the states. With very friendly people and great selections.

All that plus some great local food from the stalls under the bridge and the welcoming hugs from old friends here makes it really nice to be back.

Now it's just a matter of getting the heck out of the plastic world of Atlantis and into a bit more of the real Bahamas.

Atlantis is a goal of mine. I don't care about the rates (at this point). Post pics!

We had a great time this past trip in the Florida Keys, but I'm game for yet another Gulf Stream crossing next spring.

We had a good time there and IMHO once is about enough. Nassau is a great stop to fuel and provision now. Other than that, well, not much else hooks us. Depending on your requirements, it could be until the weekend to clear the 'bone.
Right now Spring time is our target for the Exumas. We will skip H.I. this time.

It has been very quiet here in the Exumas, much more than expected

Yesterday there were 2 boats here at Staniel, 4 tonight plus a 100+ anchored in the channel of the marina after supposedly running out of fuel. They ve been doing many runs with the tender... I guess they didn't really run out but probably decided docking in the current with marginal fuel wasn't a great idea :)

A few days ago we were the only boat at the dock in Gtown. Haven't seen a single boat between Staniel and Gtown and back... Had all the anchorages to ourselves!

I agree about the new Fresh market, although it s not quiet like the stateside chain by the same name...

Kurt, Atlantis is way overrated... Too many people, no privacy, the beach is dirty... These days I bypass Nassau altogether unless I have to pick up someone

Got into HI this evening around 6pm. Nice ride over. Only one other boat here in Valentine's. It's very quiet even though the island was packed for the sailing regatta over the weekend. Apparently most every body stayed at the hotels/resorts and came by ferry.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Only a couple of boats today at emerald bay... What s depressing place. Half finished like everything else in the Bahamas... Nice club house nice staff and dock but no view. Yuck

And even with smooth sound you feel some surge. I d hate to be here in winter,

I've heard they can't even offer access to Sandals unless you pay the full rate. Pool access on the site is not allowed, but you can pay for the privilege of dining at the cafe?

Heading out of Nassau via the East cut.

Heading through Spanishwells to HI.

Going around Gun Point and through the reef and into HI.

Sunset at the dock at Valentine's.

Dinner.

Yes Jacques, A.K.A. Bandit. The boat we tow bummed his and his bimini just popped out of it's mount. No real damage. And we still got bread and I got my pepper jelly. :-) Plus the stone crab claws he sent over on the ferry the next day.

Woody helped us out in 2011. Plenty of bread etc.. :D
