Very quiet here in Atlantis. When we got here a couple of days ago there were only 8 boats in the marina. Very peaceful for this place.
Hoping to head to Harbour Island tomorrow if the swell drops a bit so we can get through the Backbone.
We spent one night anchored off of Frazer's Hog Cay and the crossing was uneventful. Other than the new Garmin autopilot misbehaving. We had that along with 4 Garmin glass bridge touch screens, a Garmin VHF, Radar, sonar, XM weather and Garmin WiFi network installed before we left. The only thing not working correctly out of the box was the autopilot. This is now the second new unit and it's still wonky. Even after much head scratching and calls to Garmin by the techs that installed it all.
Oh well, one more thing for the to do list when we get back.
I'll post some pics of HI and the trip over later.
Picking up an Android phone for WiFi was a breeze. No line at all in the phone store and they are running a special on phones and plans. So can get a phone for $150 and you get $30 of data for $20.
And the new Fresh Market store in the same Harbour Shops plaza is like stepping into a market in the states. With very friendly people and great selections.
All that plus some great local food from the stalls under the bridge and the welcoming hugs from old friends here makes it really nice to be back.
Now it's just a matter of getting the heck out of the plastic world of Atlantis and into a bit more of the real Bahamas.
