Red bull Air Race at Liberty state park

I guess there is nothing wrong with watching from outside the spectator areas from a trolling speed?
 
I would say not. The river is open for navigation. The thought has crossed my mind that I may take that option, depending on conditions
 
If anyone here goes tomorrow let us know if the viewing area the uscg set up is any good.
 
Came down to Liberty Landing today and I can assure you if you think you are going to "push" the rules forget it. I couldn't even head into the morris canal with out calling the coast guard on the radio. I thought they were going to ram me!

That said the planes are AWESOME to watch! They were doing practice runs and it was incredible!
 
I was down today, and from where I could see, Charlie is a good viewing area. We watched 4 fireworks shows this evening, and then put her in on the fuel dock at Liberty in a spot I should not have fit. Two large ships were bow to bow, between pulpits there was about 30 feet, but with a steep prow on one boat there was about 45 feet at the water line.

Long story short, put her in there with my stern on one bow, and the pulpit of the second ship about 2 feet from my windshield.

It worked, we got fuel. Can't wait for tomorrow.
 
Went down today. Loads of boats, sailboaters once again proved how they don't give a crap about anyone else.

The race was awesome, as was the helicopter show beforehand and the parachuters.

We idled back and forth in front of the course and had a great view. An A-hole in a huge Sea Ray blasted through and waked the crap out of us.
 
Very cool today. It wasn't just blow boaters. It was impressive, the lack of boat handling skills. There was a very nice 62 azimut that must have had a position holding system. He was the only one not fighting wind and tide.
 
Man those Coasties have patience.

I would have lost it answering all the calls on 16 for the same thing. One right after another. They're probably happy it's over.
 
Didn't realize it was on TV.
I watched it there.
Looked cool.
Nice day for it after the fog lifted.
 
Excellent race!

Wasn't decided till the last racer who was leading till he clipped a pylon.
