This is going to be a long Winter! Anybody have some butter?

There are going to be a lot of total losses. The insurance companies know that if the boat is submerged or badly damaged, if they try to fix it, they will be stuck with a customers boat that will never be right, and they'll never be able to close out the claim.

Heard from Ins... Total Loss.

Good for you!!!

The easy way out.

Easy to say but many of us love our boats and would be heart broken if it were a total loss!

I hope you are good with this I know you cared for your boat, I hope you don't walk but go out looking for a new boat in the morning!

Leigh,
How bad was your boat? I saw the hole on the starboard aft, what else?

Swim platform ripped off the boat, many small holes (from chaffing) the large hole aft... but the big one was the anchor pulpit was hit from underneath very hard causing the top deck to be cracked both starboard and port side at the join.
I don't think the damage was that bad but the surveyor said the work involved with the repair would be to much... Everything would have had to come out of engine room to repair the hole at the aft. The swim platform would have to be custom made as Sea Ray can not supply for 1997 boat and the top deck and hull would have had to be separated to repair the top deck and anchor pulpit... It is what it is...

We will get out of boating until the kids are a little older and we can enjoy it more.
Boating became more work then pleasure chasing around a 5 and 2 year old...

When we get back in it will be all the way..45 or larger convertible...

Leigh

I glad to hear you are good with the outcome sorry to hear you will be getting out for a bit. When my son was about 1 or 2 I took a brake for a year but I had a much smaller boat I missed it so much that the following year I simply bought a bigger boat. Enjoy the time with the kids and I will see you back on the water sooner then you probably think.

I know he was trying to sell the boat Dave.

Do you think I would post something like that without that knowledge. Give me more credit than that please.

It was surprising to me that you would be that insensitive:) I have spoken to several people who's boats have been totaled some happy some very sad. I know Victoria Secret is not among the happy he loves his boat and was not looking to get out or move up anytime soon.
I'm dealing with storm damage today I have a crew installing a new rood on me house as I type this, sounds like they are about to fall through.

Leigh,
Wow, I guess there is more than meets the eye on repairs. Well, I am glad things are working out for you and hope to see you back out on the water in a few years. You know where we will be next year if you feel like stopping down.

Any word on how Wayne is doing with the marina repairs and improvements ?

They are moving along. They put half of the pool house deck back in place. They also built a new ramp to the pool house and repaired the sewer and water pipes underneath. Now they are working on the docks. They have the main G dock in place with the brackets at the end of the fingers back around the poles. The two docks to the right off G dock are not repaired yet. They're getting there.

If the main G dock is in place, does that mean that he is done dredging?

SPBM will get the dredge after Pennybridge and Patsy's finish with it. Wayne let them go first as a friendly gesture.

I don't recall anyone reporting that the owners of Patsy's or PennyBridge said that they were going to dredge...(or rebuild them as high class marinas)
