SPBM

"being a business owner I feel bad for whoever has lost their livelyhood."
+1000 it is going to be a tough year for many! I hope everyone makes the best of it and gets to enjoy the boating season!

With all the boat repair work, I wouldn't worry about marinas losing money. In fact, I'll bet that most of them will do very well.

At SPBM, they charged the insurance companies thousands of dollars to haul boats after the storm - even one that was supposed to get a free haulout and winter land storage...

Because I have friends there and I care about them.

Todd, if yhou have been following this thread, which I'm sure you have, you would know that it has been about EVERYTHING...

I hope for your sake, and everyone else who is planning to stay at SPBM this summer that the marina and seawall are fixed.

Doesn't matter what marina we dock our boats, we all have to be very carefull this season, traveling the river. I see a lot of junk in the water.
Slower speeds and a sharper lookout.

Speaking about seawalls, right in front of my old slip at SPBM the seawall is no longer there, I guess things work out for the best sometimes.

Once we all get back in, I'll post a sticky for us to notify each other of any trouble spots.

This could be a very interesting season, it's the stuff you can't see that has me nervous.

I wonder about that also. The G dock just needs some cleats on the new fingers and it's done. The service dock and the ramp dock are in. The new sections of H dock by Patsy are stacked up in the yard. Then the D dock. The pool house has new doors. When it get's warm enough they will turn the water on. After the docks are done they are going to work on the breakwater. Any one going in in april can go on G dock until D dock is finished. Usually the only ones in in april are fisherman like me. Plenty of room on G dock for us. I'll be in when it warms up.They don't need the pool for three months so that is way down the list. If all that's been done so far isn't progress I don't know what is.

What you call the seawall I call the breakwater. As I said when the docks are done they will work on it.

OK, wasn't sure what you meant by "breakwater". To me, a breakwater is a solid piece of land, usually made out of huge stones.

A seawall is what's in front of the houses that were destroyed on river road around the bend past Gilligans. That's what I always called it and heard it called. Maybe we can go 32 pages on what the proper term is.

LOL, I'll be we can!

Ken make sure you use the right words or you will be corrected like when you were in grammer school.

Just bought a 10' X 10' raft for Bowline, thinking Croton might have junk on the bottom from the storm, not good for kids jumping around in the water this season.

I see Haverstraw has slips for boats 27' to 32' for $76.00 per foot in the south part of the marina.
