Mike,
Where are u going to keep the new boat ?

Rob

Rob, going to keep the new boat at the new house in bellmore. Hoping to get a week or two at the marina before I bring it home so I can parcatice docjking with this bigger boat. I'm not on the widest of canals.

Hoping to get in sometime during the first week in April. It all depends on the weather. I need a bunch of good days for cleaning, waxing, and bottom painting.

Let the record show this sucks.... ( being powerless in reagrds to boat repairs )

Boat would be going in today. I feel like a lost puppy..... Anyone need help let me know : (

I think I am holding off until 4/27.
As much as I want to get in, I see too much still needing to be done in the marina.
I don't want to get all cleaned up to have them come through and do construction work and mess me all up again.
A slow season start is better than a no season start!

I think I'm going to take the wrap off of the Eastern tomorrow or Monday if I get the time. We got it on the mechanics trailer and moved it up to my Uncle's driveway from his dock property last weekend where his mechanic took off the old motor and hung the new one on it. I gave him a hand with the swap and luckily it went really smooth. Much easier than pulling a motor out of a bilge. We didn't even have to unwrap the boat to get it done.
Not looking forward to painting the bottom on a trailer, particularly one that doesn't belong to us, but I'll just take my time and try to be as neat as possible. Can't wait to check out the new power. We might have to play around with the prop to get it dialed in right, so the sooner we get in the better. I'm sure the mechanic is going to want to get his trailer back at some point too, so we'll probably drop it in before the end of the month.
It'll be nice to get some early fishing in before it gets crowded out there.

Not sure, thinking of moving my boat to Port Jefferson for the season.

I wouldn't mind moving mine up to the North Shore for a month or so just to check out different destinations for a while. It would be nice to find someone who wanted to swap slips for a month.
With the fishing boat down on the south shore I would have the best of both worlds.

I posted a few years back about doing a swap of slips, had no takers. No big deal about the dock fire, sure they will have it fixed before the season starts

GOOD LUCK... 3 boats are scheduled to go in today at my Marina. All on the same dock.

Hopefully they go out this weekend and Clear the way .. : )
