Time to pull the cover?

Walter
Water Temp in NY harbor is about 45 degrees today.(47 at sandy hook)
Most likely will not get lower than the high 30’s any more this year
I hear you about saying goodbye to your old ride. But I think you’ll get a chubby every time you start the diesels in the new one

Best of luck Walter!

I cut my top today and hope to start cleaning tomorrow. It felt good being on board today.

Cover came off Saturday, Canvas went on. Wash and Waxed today and schedules to be splashed by friday!

WOW that was quick! I'm taking it slow I was the top side today but wash and wax in one day that's incredible. I don't expect to be in until mid April there is no rush or reason to kill myself.

yesterday i cut 3 new sections for the dingy floor, today i'll finish them.
splash date is set for 04.07

I'm rebuilding my cockpit seat back, it's a big job! Cover coming off this weekend, then waxing with my son. Planning on early April launch.

I'm heading back up this morning I have a few hours to kill I'll see what I can get done. In previous years I have started from the bottom and work up figuring I can do the top once in the water, somehow the top takes forever to get to. This year I'm starting from top down, being I'm able to get this early start I'm hoping the boat will be completely done and ready to launch the beginning of April. I have been enjoying just being on board even out of the water I found it relaxing just being on the boat and near the water. At the moment Life is good!

Hogan, what are you rebuilding the cockpit seat back for? Just upholstery? It does look like it would be a bit of a pain to do being all one piece. Mine needs it too. Make sure you post some pics so I can see how it is done.

John, I'm doing the U-shaped cockpit seat back. All the wood was rotted out. I unscrewed it, and removed the vinyl from what was left of the wood. I am using the rotten stuff for a template (as best I can, as a lot of it is gone). I am cutting and spar varnishing new plywood to rebuild the back. I think I'm going to have to do the final cutting and fitting at the boat, as there are some angles that need to be dealt with.

There were about 1000 staples that I had to remove, what a PITA!

The wood should last several years, by that time, I'll either sell the boat or have the wood and vinyl all re-done.

Took the cover off today, Kover Klamp frame is down, mooring cover on boat. I'll wash it tomorrow then start the waxing next weekend. Gotta keep reminding myself it's only the middle of March!

True but Spring came early this year:)

Washing and waxing our boat the past couple of days.
Topsides only. Boat is still in the water.
Our water temps. have been in the 70's this week.
We love winter boating in the South. No a/c, no heater.
Just real quiet times on anchor.
