Todays fools on the water

The absolute BEST is when you watch a guy back into a slip and someone sticks their hands out to keep from hitting the boat next to them..WRONG, let the boats hit. Someone did that when I was docked next to them, and I kept telling her to keep her arms in the boat. Next thing you know shes being taking by ambulance to the hospital. She shattered her arm..
 
There's a boat in our marina that swamped us, at a time when we had a smaller boat at a different marina. I recognized his boat when we came here, but never said anything to him. I see that his boat is up for sale...don't know if he's getting another boat, but hope to the heaven's that he's getting out of boating.
 
I would have confronted him. Being swamped like that can cause a lot of damage. You are responsible for the wake you throw.

When I take my searay out, I usually go to Zachs for a few hours. I wont even go up on plane. Im coming from Massapequa, and there are always fishermen in the channel and I dont want my wake to harm them even though we all know that they arent supposed to be there...
 
Ive seen people in all size boats do stupid things even PWC's which you do need a safety class for to operate.

I use to feel the same way about buying a house......make it mandatory....to educate buyers with the basics's about owning one....before they buy it.

BUT........when a homeowner use to call us with " NO LIGHTS " in their house......I'd go there and reset the main breaker ( for $400 time & labor )....I think different.......let them be STUPID....just have lots of $$$$$ !!!!

Don, I agree with your rates, but one has nothing to do with the other. Yeah, homeowners should be educated, their house isnt moving (unless a motor home).

In my opinion operating a boat is much more difficult then operating a car. Infact, operating a boat, HELPS tremendously in your ability to operate a car.

Yes, people should be educated, but at the same time, there is a road test for a vehicle, then there should be a road test for a boat.

Anyone with money can go out buy a boat, run it having NO idea what they are doing and think that everyone else is at fault.

Heeeellllooooo, wake up and smell the F-ing coffee..No water test for boaters is the dumbest thing going, almost dumber then the whacko "leading" this country....
 
B/C...... I agree......Boat operation should be licensed. Its probably the only moving vehicle that doesn' have to be licensed.....Cars .....motorcycles....trucks.....airplanes.... helicopters.....tanks.....all need special license's......why not boats ?

Heck......you even need a license to own a dog..........WTF ?
 
You need a license for a dog? Other than a rabies shot I have no license.
 
Yup......Town of Babylon requires all dogs to be licensed.......he gets a metal tag for his collar......along with his rabies tag.

I think the dog license is required just about anywhere. The penalty is that they can take the dog to the pound if he or she isn't licensed.
Weren't they always trying to do that to The Little Rascal's Petey?
 
I have my boaters license.

A license means you can operate that vehicle. Whats needed more then a license, is an on water test to make sure you can handle such a vehicle...
 
Could never understand why they didn't make Marriage licenses......expire......just like every other kind of license. WTF ?

I think that's why marriage licenses were invented anyway; so the government can make money up front and the lawyers (who made the laws) can get rich undoing it.
