Doubt it matters.
Sucking goes against the natural flow, so if something had a check valve on it, sucking would not suck past that valve, but I am not aware of any check valves on a boat!

I have one on my hot water heater.
If you suck from the end faucets it pulls it in the natural direction too.

I used air for the first time last fall, and all is well this year with the system..I will never go back to pink, and will continue with the air...
