Yamaha 130 hp 2 stroke bogging and stuttering

I was wondering what the "blob" over the the 3rd dash (underline) on the display meant.

So...I have hopefully reached the end of this saga...and it did not involve matches or a mysterious sinking...

I finally gave up and dropped the boat off at a repair shop on the coast that I saw highly recommended online on some local Facebook pages...

I spoke with the owner and explained what was happening, he told me he was flat out but would get to her when able. No worries, it's worth the wait if he gets to the heart of this problem that has plagued me for the past several years... So, a month later he seems to have finally chased down the multiple gremlins and sent me a video of the old egg mixer firing right up cold and running like new!

Turns out it was a combination of problems, but they all boiled down to fuel starvation. Fuel pump, priming bulb, fuel line, water separator, anti-siphon valve, carburetor reeds, carb cleaning, and someone along the way replaced one of the carb screws with the wrong one.

I'm picking her up tonight and he asked me to get on the water ASAP and run her hard to make sure the problem is resolved. I can't wait to actually get out and enjoy my boat again!

this has been happening since 2021??

The problem has been off and on...it's a long story of me replacing parts, pumping out old fuel, taking it to one shop where the guy was apparently a moron, trying again to repair it myself....

Bottom line, yes and no. It has been an intermittent problem that has been driving me crazy and leading to the boat doing more sitting than boating.

I hope so...I'm picking her up tonight and going to drop in a local lake tomorrow to put it to the test!

Brian, there comes a time in every man's life when he realizes he's "just too old for the sh!t" and just finds a pro and opens his wallet. Welcome to the club! 😎

I certainly hope so, because it was not cheap! Turns out this guy does maintenance for much of the MA and NH commercial fleet as well as the Coast Guard. I guess he knows his stuff. When I told him I hope it works because if not my wife was likely to give me a Viking funeral on the boat, he told me if I have any trouble to call him and he'll drive to me to fix it. Considering I'm 1.5 hours away, I take it he's confident he has solved the problem...

Good news Brian. Hope today's run goes smoothly.
As speedo said, welcome to the club.
