I would agree but there is no smell however just the thought of 100 gallons of crap is disgusting I agree.
 
Not a good idea to leave all that sewage sitting in your tank. You should pump out every week.

I'm working on an idea, a methane powered weed whacker driven generator I got the idea from Bob a while back. :)
I don't even leave the dock every week being a prisoner of the tides really blows, so I guess we better get a local pump out boat.

Thinking about that and the fact that alot of boats cant move due to tides, you have to wonder about how many boats are still pumping over board in the marina.

No wrong Bob. If I recall this was Bobs last idea on this site. It was a bit absurd.

Caryl-d I wonder the same question. What about the live aboards that spend the Winter at dock who are they kidding, they can't move they have no way to pump out are we supposed to believe that they always go on shore? I hate to think about it, it makes me think twice about swimming.
 
Mike, you scared the crap out of me (pun intended). RYB charges $5 per pumpout. I know because it kills me to pay it after staying two or three nights and filling up on gas, paying the tab and having $5 added. I try my best not to reflect it in the tip.

I like Haverstraw's model and they are the only place I go for fuel because of it.

What's the big deal to put $20 or $30 of fuel in your tank at Haverstraw and then get the free pumpout?

Do they have a minimum?

What do you guys do with your dogs when you anchor out in Croton? Do you dink in to walk them like at Bowline? If so do they chase you away? I have taken the dink to the shore but stayed just of the beach and not had a problem but I have also been chased away for walking on the beach, that was a few years ago I don't know if the have lighten up a bit or not.
 
You watch for the police, when they are not around, you dink to the north end of the beach and let them "do their business".

After hours, you can land pretty much anywhere and walk them.

Hi Erik,
Sorry for the very late reply as it's been very busy with the festival. Unfortunately, the Parks Department does not allow people to anchor their boats and bring a dingy or even walk ashore. This is their policy and is out of my hands.
